The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were annonced live today on The Talk on CBS. There are some new categories this year, such as Outstanding Special Guest in a Drama Series and Outstanding Stunt Coordination.
As there are only four daytime drama series remaining on the air, in many categories all four soaps are nominated. Below is the list of all the acting categories, along with the writing and directing categories and the Creative Craft categories like sound mixing, camera editing, etc. The Creative Awards will be bestowed to the winners in an off-air ceremony on Friday night, April 24 at the Universal Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Great news for fans of daytime television. The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards are once again headed to a broadcast network. Pop, the newly rebranded television network (formerly the TV Guide Network) which is seen in more than 80 million homes, has signed on with The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) to air the live broadcast this year. The announcement was made this morning by NATAS and Pop.
It's getting closer! The 2014 Daytime Emmy Awards on June 22, and I will be doing the red carpet. How much more exciting can it be? In my line of work, I get to meet the PTB (powers that be), I get to chat and hang with the stars, I get to visit the sets, but what can be more thrilling than being on the Red Carpet? This is a dream come true and it is my first time covering the event from smack in the middle of Hollywood at the famed Beverly Hilton Hotel. Oh my God what will I wear?
