Soapdom Privacy Policy

Soapdom is very respectful about the privacy concerns of the visitors to its website.  As a general policy, no personal information is automatically collected from visitors to the Soapdom website.  However, certain non-personal information of visitors is recorded by the standard operation of Soapdom's internet servers.  This information is primarily used to provide an enhanced online experience for the visitor. Information tracked may include the type of browser being used by the visitor (e.g. Netscape, I.E., AOL, Firefox), the type of operating system (e.g. Macintosh, Windows) in use by the visitor, and the domain name of the visitor's internet service provider (e.g. AOL, Earthlink, Sprintnet).  Uses of this information include internal review of the number of visitors to the site, but only in an aggregate and non-personally identifiable form.  Email addresses and other personally identifiable data about visitors to this site are known to Soapdom only when voluntarily submitted by the visitor.

Personally identifiable information that may be collected in connection with visitors voluntarily filling out contest entry forms, membership subscriptions, registering for the site, etc. is retained by Soapdom. Soapdom will not redistribute or sell to any third party any personal information submitted by you in the course of your using this website.  

In the event of a sale of the company, or the sale of the majority of the assets of the company, or merger or other type of consolidation, or similar business transaction, the company can assign or transfer the users or members information including contact information.

We do not share information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes unless you affirmatively agree to such disclosure -- typically by opting in to receive information from a third party that is participating in a sweepstakes or other promotion on our site. If you do ask us to share your information with a third party for its marketing purposes, we will only share information in connection with that specific promotion, as we do not share information with any third party on a continual basis. To prevent disclosure of your personal information for use in direct marketing by a third party, do not opt in to such use when you provide personally identifiable information on our site. Please note that whenever you opt in to receive future communications from a third party, your information will be subject to the third party's privacy policy. If you later decide that you do not want that third party to use your information, you will need to contact the third party directly, as we have no control over how third parties use information. Soapdom Opt-In

Soapdom will maintain a database and, from time to time, email to that database a notification of upcoming events at Soapdom, or information regarding items of interest to our demographic. We will only email those who have agreed to receive such (opt-in) email or newsletters in advance, either via their member registration, paid subscription, or otherwise voluntarily signing up for any newsletter mailing list, entering Soapdom-sponsored  contest, or the like.  A "removal notice" will be incorporated into each mailing.

3rd Party Advertising Companies

We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Web site. These companies may use aggregated information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. Cookies

Soapdom may place a "cookie" in the browser files of a Soapdom user's computer.  The cookie itself does not contain any personally identifying information.  The cookie could enable Soapdom to relate a user's use of Soapdom to information that the user has specifically and knowingly provided.

Users should be aware that when they voluntarily disclose personal information (e.g., user name, email address, phone number) on bulletin boards or in the chat rooms, that information can be collected and used by other visitors to the site, and may result in unsolicited messages from other people.  

A Note to Parents Regarding Privacy

Soapdom recommends that parents supervise the online activities of their children. Soapdom encourages children to consult with their parents before furnishing any personal data online, and strongly recommends that they do not post personal information in the public forums, i.e. message boards. Blogs, and chat rooms.

Your California Privacy Rights

A California resident who has provided personal information to a business with whom he/she has established a business relationship for personal, family, or household purposes (California customer) is entitled to request information about whether the business has disclosed personal information to any third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes.
