Planning on watching the 2014 Daytime Emmy Awards? Well you better have your computer or tablet handy. In a groundbreaking move, The 2014 Daytime Emmy Awards -- which honor the best in morning and afternoon television -- won't be airing on TV this year.

Instead, the June 22 ceremony will be live-streamed online after failing to reach a TV deal for the 41st annual ceremony. The show will be available for streaming starting at 8 p.m. (Eastern), 5 p.m. (Pacific) that evening.

It will be the Daytime Emmys' first web-based broadcast after airing on HLN the past two years, where ratings plummeted in the move to cable. Last year's telecast averaged 913,000 viewers after drawing 5.4 million viewers on CBS just two years prior.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presents the awards in 25 categories, including drama series, talk shows and children's programming. This year CBS' "The Young and the Restless" leads the nominations with 26.

"We are confident that the expert team we've brought on will flawlessly execute an evening that celebrates the outstanding talent being honored and allows fans to be a part of the action," said NATAS chairman Malachy Wienges in a statement.

There are many pros and cons to this like any situation, but in my opinion at least daytime fans will get to see the show. Lets face it! Everyone owns a computer or a tablet. So we will still get to see our favorite stars shining brightly. Imagine if it was a blackout? No matter the situation, yes! I'd prefer network TV or an outlet, but it is what it is. So sit back pull up a chair and lets cheer for our favorite daytime performer or show.
