Hi there soap fans! I am Linda Marshall-Smith, your host and QueenRuler of www.Soapdom.com.  I run things around here and I am so glad you've surfed the net and found us! We're here to provide you with all the breaking news, storyline material, sneak previews, actor interviews and more about your favorite soap operas.  www.Soapdom.com is the first soap opera site to have it's very own social network and we can't wait for you to begin participating.

This is our 10th Anniversary edition and the 4th version of www.Soapdom.com. All of our editorial content is freely available to any site visitor, but to take the most advantage of all that Soapdom has to offer, our registered members rule the site. Registration is free.

If you are already registered, but haven't been here in a while, be sure to see the "Help" section for info on how to use our new features, get a new password, update your member profile, email address, etc. Then log in and start participating in our very own Soapdom social network.

If you're totally new, the first thing to do is register. Registering is free.

Click on the button on the upper right of the home page, or click the LogIn/Register button, wait for the dropdown and click "create a new account." Or you can click the Join button, wait for the page to totally load then log in with your Facebook account by utilizing our "Facebook Connect" feature.

Current members may also take advantage of our "Facebook Connect" feature once logged in. You will find it in your profile page settings.

With Soapdom.v4 you can connect with friends in our very own social network, share photos, videos, status, comment on walls, contact and invite friends, create, join and participate in groups, connect with Facebook, play soap opera trivia games, research soap opera babynames, chat, and more.

Soapdom Social Network

It's our very own Facebook-MySpace-type community right here at www.Soapdom.com. You can write and manage blogs, upload photos, videos, build a friends list, and so much more, like adding videos to your wall posts, and comment on friends' wall posts. Why have a soaps-related page on Facebook, when you can do it right here at Soapdom, Where Soap Operas Rule! Start your page and invite your friends today. Color Code

This is one of my favorite features. The default color for Soapdom is this cool shade of pink. But if your look in the drop down where you log in or register, you will see four small boxes. Click on the blue box and the site turns blue! Click on the orange box and the site turns orange. Click on the green box and --- say it with me soap fans --- the site turns green. Click pink and you are back to where you started! Feeling like it's an "orange" day? Just click the orange button!

Chat and Forums

As usual, we still have our chat rooms -- one for each soap, an auditorium, and an editors chat. And our message boards. Come share your thoughts with everyone. See this Help article on how to use the Soapdom Message Boards.

Comments

As in v3, you can comment on every article throughout the site. All your comments will be listed in your member area's "comment section."

Points

The more you comment, blog, add photos, videos, etc to the site, the more points you'll get. The more points you get, the more of a soap opera expert you become. Top point holders will be entered into contests at the various intervals throughout the year and you can win some very hot prizes. More info on this to come. Top point holders will also be featured on every page of the Soapdom site in the bottom left of every page. For more info on the Soapdom Points system, see this Help article.

Contests

Speaking of contests, we'll have more of them. There will be polls, photo galleries, games, and more.

Video

Yup. We intend to offer a featured video a few times a week. If it's not one we've shot and produced ourselves, it will be one from YouTube or one from your blogs. If you've got a video to upload it could be featured throughout the site. Stay tuned for more on this way cool new feature.

Shop

Finally, finally, finally we will get our Soapdom store off the ground. Coming soon, stay tuned.

Newsletters

As with v3, we offer a wide range of Newsletters, from the The Soapdom News to newsletters on each show, and of course the ever popular Sneak Peeks Newsletter. Be sure to sign up for your favorites. You can adjust your newsletter preferences at any time in your profile pages. Simply check or uncheck the newsletters you want to receive and update the list. Your email address will be added or removed immediately.
