Daytime Emmy winner, Heather Tom (Katie, The Bold and the Beautiful)As the winners leave the stage, they head to three locations to share their win with the press. First, it's the room where shows like Entertainment Tonight and E! do one-on-one interviews with the winners. Then, there's the rash of photographers who snap away as the happy winners display their statuettes. Finally, winners are escorted into the press room for questions from the print and internet press.

A couple of highlights:

Christel Khalil (Lily, The Young and the Restless and winner of Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series) was in a very giddy and baudy mood, blaming a little too much Champagne.

Tony Geary (Luke, GH and winner of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series) couldn't stop singing the parses of Jonathan Jackson (Lucky, GH, and winner of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series) and vice versa.

Geary told a story of one of the first days he worked with Jackson. Jackson was 11 years old, and asked Geary why his character did not have a dog. Geary said that was a good question and Jackson made up some back story saying that maybe the reason Lucky didn't have a pet was because the family moved around so much and maybe he did have a pet once but because of all the moving, the pet got lost. Geary said that from the beginning Jackson was only about the work and the character, even at 11 years old. He believes that Jackson had Lucky silently carry the weight of maybe losing a dog at some point early in life throughout his time on GH.

Jackson said that he is indebted to both Geary and Genie Francis for being the kind of actors they are and for teaching him.

Geary also shared that the show is working very hard right now. Just recently, he taped scenes from 11 episodes in one day! Can you imagine?

Heather Tom (Katie, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Winner Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series) couldn't be more delighted that the producers are writing her real-life pregnancy into the storyline. "No hiding behind plants or carrying pillows around for me," she quipped.

When the Days of our Lives writing team was announced winners of the Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team, the press room erupted in applause.

Chandler Massey (Will, Days of our Lives and winner of the Outstanding Younger Actor Award) explained that his character seeks love because his mother, Sami, seems to jump from relationship to relationship and has always kind of neglected Will. When the chemistry between EJ (James Scott) and Will was brought up, Massey agreed and said you never know what may transpire between them in the future.

Susan Lucci (ex Erica, All My Children) shared that she got off the plane in LA from NY yesterday and immediately got a call from her agent who told her that the new show, Devious Maids, created by Marc Cherry, was picked up by Lifetime. She is so excited to play this new character. When asked if the character is a diva, Lucci said she's not sure yet. She's only seen one script -- the pilot. She also shared that although the show is about Beverly Hills, it will be filmed in Atlanta.

Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis, General Hospital and winner of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series) was in Chicago with her family, but tweeted the following upon learning of her win:

"beside myself & came to Chi 2b w/ my family 4 personal reasons.  So sorry 2 not have been there but being with my family 4 this means everything. "

And "I honestly didn't think I had a chance.  So grateful."

And then:  WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!!!!!!!!"

Later, "Really good night for General Hospital.  I'm so grateful. Honestly just so grateful."

And finally, "I've never won an Emmy in my Jammies before. Weird and cool all at the same time."

Soapdom also congratulates Kelly Ripa (aka Pippa, ex Haley, All My Children) for winning Outstanding Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show Host alongside Regis Phiilben.
