Fans of daytime television have dodged a bullet -- literally.

According to a member of the hotel staff...
"Yes, the awards show is going in as planned."
As I was watching the 11:00 PM news last night, KCBS reported a breaking story, that gun shots were heard at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. They showed a newschopper view of a myiad of police vehiches arriving on scene.
I awoke this morning to get the full story. According to the Associated Press, at approximately 10:50 PM on Friday night, police were called to the Beverly Hilton when shots fired were reported. An couple, described as "elderly" was found dead of gunshot wounds in their hotel room, in what authorities are calling an apparent murder suicide.
It is not clear if the victims are in any way related to the Daytime Emmy event. The bodies were taken to the LA Coronor's office Saturday morning as the investigation continues.
Our hearts go out to the friends and family of the victims.
In February, on the eve of another awards show, the Grammy's, legendary singer, Whitney Houston, was found dead in the bathtub of her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
See KCAL 9 (sister statioin to KCBS) reporting on the incident Friday night.
