Y&R fans heads up. And any of you music lovers as well, regardless of whether Y&R is your fave soap or not.  SoapSongs is offering a very special promotion for the month of July. On Thursday, July 7, in a key scene about the runaways, Daniel and Lily, and their relationship to recently deceased Cassie, a song called "Sunshine" will be featured to round out the emotions of the scene. Y&R music supervisor, Mike Dobson, said this of the song: "Sunshine will make you laugh and cry all at the same time. Two Thumbs Up! It's beautiful!"  Written by Brad Hatfield and Michael Kisur and performed by Michael Kisur, this song in its entirety will be available at no cost from SoapSongs for the month of July.  To get your copy of Sunshine, purchase one cd collection:  Favorite Songs from All My Children, Favorite Songs from Young and the Restless or Favorite Songs from One Life to Live.  The cd of Sunshine will be included at no cost as part of your purchase.  Be sure to tune in to Y&R on Thursday, July 7 to hear the song on air as Daniel deals with the loss of Cassie.  Then visit soapsongs.com to get a copy of Sunshine for your very own. In Where Are They Now Buzz, Jordana Brewster (ex Nikki, ATWT) has quite the little film career for someone only in her twenties. Besides landing Nikki at 15 years old, she has since costarred in The Fast and The Furious and D.E.B.S. Now, at the LA Film Fest, you can see quite a lot of her in Nearing Grace, a coming of age story.  The thing is, she's playing a seductress, a vixen, a stripper!  As a Catholic school girl, playing a sexy seducer and stripping wasn't something that came natural for her. So, she did a little research for the part by taking a dance class in stripping.  "It was three weeks of intense pole dancing, like be sexy time," Brewster said.  "It was crazy. It was camp, but crazy sexy camp."  Her next starring role is Annapolis, a film about boxing at a naval academy, and costars James Franco and Tyrese.  (Contributed by LMS & CL)

In Oakdale Buzz, Carly better reassess how many hours she spends sleeping. Looks like something or someone will begin to haunt her dreams starting next week.  Could it have something to do with her father?  (Contributed by LMS & CL)

In B&B Buzz, Hunter Tylo (Taylor) was rushed from the B&B set to the hospital one day late last week for a medical emergency.  It's not known what caused the emergency, but we are happy to report that the actress is back in the pink now. (Contributed by LMS)

Double congrats to GL Headwriter David Kreizman, and his wife, Natasha.  The couple welcomed twins into their family, Dashiell Curtis Kreizman and Fiona Jo Kreizman, on Friday, June 17. Dashiell weighed 7lbs, 15 oz and Fiona weighed 6 lbs, 7 oz. (Contributed by LMS)

Talk about getting a point across. Y&R will feature Simple Plan's hit song, Untitled (How Could this Happen to Me?), to fight drunk driving. Along with the rock tune, public service announcements featuring Y&R cast telling viewers not to drink and drive will air on Friday, July 1 and Monday, July 4, and will give audiences contact info for MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).  Beginning Monday, July 4 the powerful drunk driving story will come to a conclusion. In the storyline, the recent death of Genoa City teen Cassie Newman (played by Camryn Grimes) haunts teenager Daniel Romalotti (played by Michael Graziadei) after he became drunk at a party.  He doesn't remember driving home drunk, but the ensuing car crash resulted in Cassie's death.  Daniel is now on the run from the law with his girlfriend, Lily Winters (played by Christel Khalil), and his memory about that fateful night is slowly starting to come back.  A chance hearing of "Untitled (How Could This Happen To Me?)" on Tuesday, July 5, will jog his memory and cause him to realize that the tragic crash may not be all that it seems. In addition to the airing of the song in the show and in promos for the show, several actors from Y&R will participate in Public Service Announcements during the July 4th weekend, aimed at discouraging viewers from drinking and driving, and from underage drinking.  The PSAs will provide viewers with contact information for MADD, one of the nation's largest crime victim assistance organizations. This year, MADD celebrates the 25th anniversary of its mission to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and to prevent underage drinking.  The featured track "Untitled (How Could This Happen To Me?)" is currently a Top 15 pop radio single and the band's third hit single off their three million copy selling sophomore release, Still Not Getting Any… An early cut of the music video that depicts a car crash and the grief that follows was sent to MADD for feedback and the organization lauded the band's bravery in tackling this important message. Simple Plan's debut album No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, was released in 2002 and has sold three million albums worldwide. (Contributed by LMS)

Talk about doing a complete turn. Buzz hears that Wayne Northrup is returning to Days of our Lives, but not as Roman Brady, the role he created in the 1980's. This time it's a new character, and he will be paired with Deidre Hall (Marlena). Why not Josh Taylor, the current Roman was Chris Kostichek in the 80's. Salem will be in for a ride. Congratulations to Guiding Light. The PGP sudzer will celebrate its 53rd television anniversary and 14,699th episode on Thursday, June 30, 2005. The show first debuted on radio on January 25, 1937 and made its television debut June 30, 1952. It remains the longest running show in broadcast history and holds a record in the Guinness Book. In more GL news, Beth Chamberlin (Beth) and her husband Peter Roy, welcomed a new addition to their family, Lucas Stanley, on May 18, 2005. The boy weighed 7 lbs, 5 oz and was 21 inches in length. (Contributed by LMS)

In DOOL Buzz, rumor has it that Eric Winter (Rex) will be exiting Salem by the end of July. In more Salem news, rumor has it that Kyle Lowder (Brady) will definitely leave when his contract expires, and he will leave with Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin). There is still speculation as to the recasting of Chloe. (Contributed by MEW & LMS)

Buzz hears there's also an upcoming change in Harmony. Kathleen Noone (Edna Wallace) has been let go from Passions. Perhaps there is no story without Precious (Bam Bam), the orangutan who left in March, and Kelli McCarty (Beth) who is rumored to be exiting soon as well. (Contributed by MEW)

Renee Goldsberry (Evangeline) of One Life to Live tells buzz at The ABC Fun in the Sun event in Chicago that she wants her fans to beware. "I have a very special announcement on a very special project that I will go public with in a few weeks,"she said. "I'm not saying it yet. I'm not even telling buzz, but it will be great, and I'm so excited." The suspence is killing me.  Stay tuned! (Contributed by MEW)

While over at ATWT, there are many fans against the Paul/Emily pairing.  Well, just in case you forgot, Emily has had quite the sordid past. SOD has taken the time to review for us. Check it out. (Contributed by CL)

In Passions Buzz, hold on to your remotes Passions fans.  There's a major disaster heading for Harmony and it will kick off the summer storyline! According to NBC Daytime brass, "Passions disaster plot promises to be a daytime blockbuster event!" Stay tuned to Soapdom for the latest on this breaking buzz.  (Contributed by LMS)

While over at ABC Daytime, GH fans may remember the moment when Jason gave Sam that gorgeous star necklace on General Hospital. Many fans have been contacting ABC saying they that necklace for their very own. ABC has listened. Go to the Soap Store on ABC.com to purchase this lovely, rhinestone necklace…and then find someone like Jason to help put it on! (Contributed by LMS)

And ABC fans can also send birthday and friendship cards flavored with ABC daytime characters' distinct personalities and points of view.  ABC Daytime has partnered with a major greeting card company to offer this unique item. "We are proud to join together with American Greetings to combine the strength of our popular ABC Daytime characters with their respected greeting card brand," said Brian Frons, president ABC Daytime. "Based on the huge success of All My Children's Enchantment Fragrance and One Life to Live's best-selling novel, The Killing Club, we believe the fans will truly enjoy connecting with their favorite shows and characters with these fun cards."  A birthday card featuring GH's Sonny pictures him on the card front lounging in a tie-less suit and saying, "I want you to have a happy birthday."  Inside Sonny delivers the punch line: "And trust me, it's best to give me what I want."  GH characters Jason and Carly also have their own cards with greetings that will appeal to fans who understand their personalities. Three AMC characters, Greenlee, Ryan and Tad are also featured on cards.  Greenlee delivers the message, "I've got beauty, brains and a way with men." Inside, the sweet ending:  "But having you as a friend is the best of all."  Ryan's card is distinctly edgy.  On the front, the card says: "I'm completely naked inside this card." And on the inside a fully clothed Ryan says:  "I can't believe you fell for that.  Happy Birthday anyway."  Blair and Todd from OLTL also have their own cards.  Blair, known for her strong personality, attempts to sweeten her image with a thoughtful greeting and Todd, always ready to advance his own interests at someone else's expense, promises to dish the dirt on the birthday card recipient and reveal her real age. Designed to be fun, casual and a bit on the edge, the cards were conceived and written by the creative teams at ABC Daytime and American Greetings.  Called the "Wide World of Soaps" greeting card collection, the cards are available at select Wal-Mart stores nationwide.  Email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Wedding bells will be ringing. Rumor has it that a familiar face will show up soon on All My Children, but will bring bad news. (Contributed by MEW)

Doug Hutchison (Sebastian Hulce, Guiding Light) is the latest actor to be given a pink slip.  His last airdate is not yet known. (Contributed by MEW)

June 20, 2005

In B&B and DOOL Buzz, Ronn Moss (Ridge, B&B) and Winsor Harmon (Thorne, B&B) and Brody Hutzler (Patrick, DOOL) will attend 45th Monte Carlo Television Festival June 27 through July 1st, 2005.  The actors will present awards at the prestigious Golden Nymph Awards Ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum Salle des Princes on July 1st.  The Monte Carlo Television Festival (www.tvfestival.com) is hosted under the Honorary Presidency of H.S.H. It appears that there will finally be a Knot's Landing Reunion.  The classic nighttime soap, which aired from 1979-93,  will  be making a 2-hour special comeback with much of it's original cast such as, Michele Lee, Donna Mills, Joan Van Ark, William Devane, Kevin Dobson, Ted Shackelford, Lisa Hartman-Black and Michelle Phillips. Halle Berry, Alec Baldwin and Nicollette Sheridan all began their careers with the soap as well, but may be less likely to appear according to TVGuide.com.  The special is tentatively scheduled to appear this fall on CBS.  (Contributed by SL)

Maybe it won’t be a happily ever after finish for Chloe and Brady on Days of our Lives after all. According to the actress’ website, Nadia Bjlorin, who has played Chloe Lane since 1999, will not be renewing her contract after this summer. But that doesn’t mean that the blue-eyed beauty will be missing on the small screen too long.  She will be starring in the new primetime UPN drama, “Sex, Lies, & Secrets” this fall.  (Contributed by SL)

First Precious and now Beth!! Kelli McCarty’s (Passions) role as Beth Wallace will be coming to an end shortly after six-years with the show.  The actress has already filmed her last episode for the soap.  No word as of yet on were the storyline will lead for Mrs. Wallace. (Contributed by SL)

General Hospital welcomes Matt Marraccini who has been cast as the character of Jesse on. His first air date is Tuesday, June 21st. He will join the Maxie/ Georgie storyline. The actor coincidentally played Kirsten Storms (Maxie) boyfriend on the CBS television series Clubhouse. (Contributed by SL)

June 17, 2005

As reported earlier....Daytime newcomer Alexandra Chando has landed the role of Henry's (Trent Dawson) sister, who will play Madeline "Maddie" Coleman. Her first airdate will be July 27. And look for As The World Turns to cast Henry's mom in the near future. (Contributed by MEW)

Beside the West Coast earthquakes, buzz hears that some rumbling will take place at Days of our Lives. But it will be behind the scenes. Stay tuned. (Contributed by MEW)

And in Harmony look for Passions to pull of a bute. There will be gasps from the audience, and a summer full of surprises. (Contributed by MEW)

Congrats to The Bold and the Beautiful. They are the recipient of four nominations for the First Annual DISCOP Telenovelas Trophies.  Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley P. Look for The Young and the Restless to soon bring back a familiar face, and rumor has it, that it will be any day. (Contributed by MEW)

CNN has been reporting that P&G has slashed their advertising budgets 15-25% because TIVO allows you to skip commercials and VCR allows you to FF...so why spend so much on advertising? BUT PRODUCT PLACEMENT will be their NEW source of advertising products. Can we therefore expect to see new P&G brands being introduced on shows like the Apprentice?  And what does that mean for P&G soaps?  They are already overburdened with the likes of paper towels, disposable diapers and soft-to-the-touch toilet paper clearly dispersed throughout the set dressing. Is more product placement on the way?  Stay tuned. (Contributed by CL and LMS)

June 10, 2005

As reported earlier, now that Trent Dawson (Henry) of As The World Turns was put on contract the show is casting for someone to play his sister, but the buzz is there may be more then that. How about Henry's eccentric mother?  (Contributed by MEW)

Also in Oakdale news, Cady McClain (Rosanna) will again leave the canvas this summer. McClain has reportedly said that in real life she is taking care of someone dying that his close to her. During her tenure at All My Children as Dixie Cooney, she was likewise caring for a dying relative -- her mom. The strain of being the care giver and working on a frontburner storyline took it's toll on the actress. If she is in a similar situation now, it is understandable why she'd want to back off work for a bit to be there for the person she's caring for.  McClain is in our thoughts during this difficult time.  And the good news is -- the door to Oakdale will remain open. Speaking of which, big things ahead for Rosanna in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.  (Contributed by MEW and LMS)

Congratulations to Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman, The Young and the Restless). He and wife Tobe welcomed their second son, Crew James. (Contributed by MEW)

In Passions buzz, look for someone to get the shock of their life when all will be revealed. However, as a result, someone will leave Harmony. Stay tuned!   (Contributed by MEW)

June 9, 2005

Andrea Evans, who stars as Rebecca Hotchkiss Crane on the NBC daytime drama Passions, is married to an attorney in real life.  Without it having anything to do with Andrea, part of the NBC family, the Spanish language network Telemundo, has asked her husband Steve Rodriguez to make his television debut and offer his insights on the Michael Jackson case decision as soon as there is a verdict.  Like everyone else, he’ll have about an hour’s notice, so he’s hopeful that’s he’s not in the middle of a trial when the call comes. (Contributed by PS and LMS)

June 8, 2005

According to Soap Opera Weekly, Kyle Lowder (DOOL) is considering leaving the daytime soap after his contract ends next month.  If that happens, what will become of the Chole, Brady, Nicole triangle?   (Contributed by SL)

In other Days news, it appears that Max Brady is on his way back to town. He is the adopted brother of Roman, Bo and the rest of the Brady Bunch. Actor Darin Brooks will play the role. (The part was last played by Ryan Brennan from 1990-1992.)  Max will be returning to Salem with Billy Warlock (ex-A.J., GH) as Frankie Brady on June 24.  (Contributed by SL)

Shanelle Workman (B&B) has recently been spotted out on the town with John Stamos (ex Blackie, GH) according to TVGuide.com. At this time, Workman is denying any romance for the two, but does admit to knowing the sexy older actor.  It had been previously reported that Workman was dating American Idol contestant Constantine.   (Contributed by SL)

What’s the reason for Tom Pelphrey and Gina Tognoni's (GL) amazing onscreen chemistry? Well according to Tvguide.com, the two are dating off the set as well.   (Contributed by SL)

In some Where Are They Now Buzz, Christopher Marquette (ex-Gregory, ANOTHER WORLD, 1996-97) will star opposite Sharon Stone, Bruce Willis and Justin Timberlake in the crime film Alpha Dog due in theaters October 25, 2005. (Contributed by SL)

June 7, 2005

As reported previously, a GL veteran has been given walking papers in a cost-cutting initiative by the show's production company, Procter & Gamble Television Productions. Jerry ver Dorn, who has played Ross Marler for 26 years just got the boot.  This on the heels of GL's reigning diva, Kim Zimmer (Reva), refusing a pay cut mid contract. In Zimmer's case, however, it is alleged that GL backed down, and she will work out her contract through it's expiration next year.  What happens to Zimmer at that time remains to be seen. When approached, the show spokesperson responded as usual:  "We do not comment on contract status."  (Contributed by CL and LMS)

Dan Wells (Stan/Sami) of Days of our Lives (featured on Soapdom in March) is head over heels in love. In fact, so much that this past weekend he tied the knot. Wells manager tells Buzz that Dan married, Rachelle, a gal he met in acting class. The happy couple is honeymooning in Hawaii. Congrats Dan and Rachelle. (Contributed by MEW)

June 3, 2005

As reported earlier, Y&R did just cut a major player.  The pink slip was handed to John Enos III, shown here with co-star Lauren Woodland (Brittany), who has played strip-club entrepreneur Bobby Marsino since 2003. Enos posted on his Internet site, "On a sad note, I just found out I will be leaving Y&R," Enos said,"My last airdate will be in August. Just another casualty of budget cuts. I had a great run and I thank the producers, writers, directors, cast and crew for making my stay the best ever! I also thank you, my fans, for your support."  (Contributed by MEW)

In other Genoa City news, the Internet is a buzz that Kimberlin Brown (Dr. Paige) of One Life To Live) may be exiting and heading back to the role of Shelia on The Young and the Restless. Stay tuned!  (Contributed by MEW)

Buzz hears that Kim Zimmer (Reva) of Guiding Light eill stay put after all, and Proctor & Gamble worked out something to make the diva happy. But in keeping with policy of not discussing contracts, P&G refuses to comment.  Plus, there's more buzz floating about that leads us to believe that Jerry ver Dorn (Ross) and Michael O'Leary (Rick) have both been dropped by the show, and Marj Dusay (Alex) has elected not to renew her contract.  (Contributed by MEW & CL)

While in ATWT Buzz, rumor has it that Paul and Emily have sex the week of June 6th. Plus, it will soon be revealed that Les killed Julia. It's also becoming more and more obvious to ATWT fans that P&G is heavily engaging in product placement on the show.  Fans are tiring of it. (Contributed by CL)

June 1, 2005

The soap world is rock'in, or at least at Guiding Light. Buzz hears that a biggie has been let go, but the name has not yet been revealed. And no it's not Kim Zimmer, who refused a pay cut. Stay tuned! (Contributed by MEW)

And look for Tyler Christopher (Nikolas, GH) to appear in the TNT film Into the West, a 6-part miniseries that begins airing on June 10th. (Contributed by MEW)

Rumors are flying that The Young and the Restless may hand out a pink slip. (Contributed by MEW)

General Hospital’s Lisa LoCicero Gets Up Close and Personal with Her Michigan Fans

I don't head to downtown Detroit often, but this past Friday was an exception. Why would I brave the single digit temperature and the downtown traffic? Because General Hospital's Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) was in town for a fan event.

LoCicero returned to her home state of Michigan for a meet and greet at the North American International Auto Show at Detroit's Cobo Center.

The event was part of Detroit's local ABC station, WXYZ Channel 7's 'Family Day' at the Auto Show.

It was positively frigid in Detroit on Friday. LoCicero, a Michigan native, told me she
