Congrats go out to All My Children's Alicia Minshew (Kendall), who after struggling with her character's baby problems on AMC, is now blessed with a blessed event in real life. Minshew and her husband, Richie Herschenfeld, are expecting their first child -- a baby girl due

this November.  No word yet if the pregnancy will be written into storyline or not.

The end is really coming for a soap opera iconic show. Guiding Light is going into its last two weeks of taping episodes.  How sad to see it go.  The good news is that the show will be airing into September.  Marj Dusay (Alexandra) has shared the following on her Facebook page:  "I'm hoping that our audience will pay close attention to the final weeks of the show. I promise you it will be extremely touching, and I think something that we can all be proud to have been a part of."

Soapdom has heard some skuttle butt about Robin Strasser (Dorian, One Life to Live) and her upcoming contract renewals -- or not.  Although her contract is not up until the end of the year, she is beginning to make some rumblings on her call in line regarding whether or not ABC Daytime will offer her her due.  If they don't, or can't afford to, does it mean she will walk?  Stay tuned...

In the Where Are They Now department, Soapdom has learned that Alex Donnelly (ex Diane, Young and the Restless) has been seen in the company of songster, Billy Joel.  The thrice wed Joel, who parted ways with wifey number three a mere month ago, has been seen hangin' with Donnelly.  From what we hear, they were introduced by a friend and met backstage at some event.  Y&R fans will recall that Donnelly played Diane Jenkins from 1982 to 1984 and again from 1996 to 2001.  "Just the Way You Are" was written for Joel's first wife.  "Uptown Girl" was written for wife number two, supermodel Christy Brinkley.  Is there a song in the making for Donnelly?  Time will tell.

In more One Life to Live Buzz, Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) met Bette Midler for the first time this week. Hickland's comments regarding the "Devine Ms. M?" "She's gorgeous!"

Susan Lucci (Erica, All My Children), Kelly Monaco (Sam, General Hospital) and Anthony Geary (Luke, General Hospital) will all soon be traveling to Kenya with Feed the Children, a non-profit relief organization that supports over 100,000 children living in Kenya's slums. Video footage of their journey will include seeing them distributing food and visiting local schools. A trip to an abandoned baby center built by Feed the Children is also planned. Part of the footage will also air as a "Daytime Gives Back" segment during the Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards this August.  Not only that, All My Children will be writing the trip into Erica's storyline.  Stay tuned. Soapdom congratulates Maura West (Carly, As the World Turns) and her husband, Scott DeFreitas. They welcomed Birdie West DeFreitas on Tuesday, June 16 at 5:33 PM.  She weighed in at 7 lbs 13 oz and is 20 inches long.  Mom and baby are doing great.
