Soapdom congratulates Sean Kanan who scored a double by being cast in not one, but two upcoming independent feature films -- “Watch Island” and “SLAYERS!” Kanan, one of the most recognizable faces in the world, most well known for playing Deacon on both the number one soap in the world, “The Bold and the Beautiful” and the number one soap in the United States, “The Young and the Restless” has joined the cast for both of Writer Brian Pickard’s projects, “Watch Island” and “SLAYERS!” Both projects, slated to shoot in New England, share Producer Pietro D’Alessio of Alexius Omnimedia who partnered with Breaking Waves Entertainment’s Bradley Hvolbeck, Jr on “Watch Island,” being directed by Matt Zettell and Pickard’s Penobscot Films “SLAYERS!,” being directed by Kevin MacDonald. Kanan will play the role of Producer Ryan Terriault in “Watch Island” and an 1800’s Baron in “Slayers,” opposite Melinda Chilton, the star of the film. Gabrielle Stone heads up the “Watch Island” cast. Kanan also has a film, “Prodigal,” in the Cannes Film Festival.

In honor of General Hospital’s hottest super couple since Luke and Laura, Vanilla Bake Shop has created the “Lante” cupcake for Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu (Julie Berman) to represent the sinfully good duo as their “summer of love” storyline begins. To celebrate, the bakery will be giving out free Lante cupcakes to the first 200 customers to enter the award-winning Santa Monica bakery on Thursday, May 5th at 9AM PT just as the couple takes their relationship to the next level in that day’s episode of the record 10-time Emmy winner of Outstanding Daytime Drama. In more Young and the Restless Buzz, Kate Linder (Esther) got the surprise of a lifetime when co-star Peter Bergman (Jack) popped in to a performance of the play Linder is currently doing in Los Angeles. The play, BEDROOM SECRETS, is now at the Secret Rose Theatre in North Hollywood, CA. Of Bergman's visit Linder said, "What a nice surprise! After my performance, Peter Bergman gave me a hug, which made this evening very special. I had no idea that he was attending, his support means a great deal to me."
