McKenzie Westmore ("Sheridan Crane Lopez-Fitzgerald," Passions) and her husband, musician/producer Seven, are delighted to announce that they are expecting a baby boy in late May/early June of next year.  "We're so excited," McKenzie enthused.  "Both of us are thrilled to become parents. This has made the holiday season extra special for us this year."  Shortly after marrying Seven several years ago, Westmore had become pregnant, but tragically miscarried. A spokesperson for the show was not available at press time to comment if the pregnancy will be written into the storyline for Sheridan, but as soon as we track him down, we'll let you know. Soapdom congratulates Westmore and Seven on this upcoming blessed event.  (Contributed by LMS)

The world keeps on turning. As previously reported, Buzz is that Kin Schriner (Keith) is out of the show. The actor reportedly left As The World Turns, and has taped his final scenes. No word on a recast. He will continue to air through January. The role was always said to be short-term. And no! He is not returning to General Hospital as Scotty Baldwin, at least, not at this time. In the world of suds, however, one never knows.  (Contributed by MEW)

Happy Thanksgiving!

OLTL actors lend their voices as hope for hurricane victims.  When hurricanes Katrina and Rita slammed into the US Gulf coast in August and September of 2005, homes were ruined and lives shattered. Like so many people around the world, ABC Daytime star Robin Strasser (Dorian, OLTL) saw the images of devastation on her television screen and was moved to help.  With the guidance of One Life To Live's Emmy-winning Music Director Paul Glass, Strasser rallied her fellow actors to do what they do best: perform. The One Life To Live cast is one of the most versatile and talented groups in daytime. When not busy on the soap set, their outside projects run the gamut from the Broadway musical stage to cabaret acts; from film roles to recording CD's; from primetime television to Shakespeare.  The actors put their unique talents to work, and the result is a CD called One Life, Many Voices.  It is a collection of song and spoken word, and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the CD will go to hurricane relief efforts. The CD will be available for pre-order at midnight, November 23, 2005.  For ordering information and to hear clips from the CD go to: www.onelifemanyvoices.com (Contributed by KC)

The Valley Theatre League awarded 'National Pastime' two ADA Awards last night, one to Reynolds for Outstanding Director and one for Outstanding Ensemble.   The awards cover theatres in the San Fernando Valley and the San Gabriel Valley. The Tolucan Times said Reynolds' direction is 'beautifully staged and directed with spine chilling personal vision,' and The Los Angeles Times claimed, 'Director James Reynolds exercises expert care.'  'National Pastime,' which ran earlier this year at the Fremont Centre Theatre in South Pasadena, concerned the events surrounding Jackie Robinson's entry into the Brooklyn Dodgers and integrating into major league baseball.  Reynolds and his wife Lissa own the Fremont Centre Theatre.  (Contributed by LMS)

As The World Turns will use "Find My Way Back" a song Martha Byrne ("Lily") wrote about her character's relationship with her on-screen husband "Holden" during a montage of their tumultuous relationship on Monday, December 5. The song can be found on her new album, "The Other Side" available at www.cbs.com/daytime. (Contributed by LMS)

Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie, GH) has been named the first spokesperson of Allure Collection jewelry, a brand new jewelry line to be sold exclusively by nationally televised home shopping service, Shop At Home Network, beginning this December.  Zeman will premiere the first 20 pieces ever available from the Allure Collection on Friday, December 16 at 10 AM and 8 PM ET on Shop at Home, which will include a host of necklaces, watches, bracelets, rings and earrings that showcase the elegance and affordability of the Allure Collection line.  Ranging from $49.00 to $129.00, the collection signatures big, fashionable looks with simulated colored gemstones and cubic zirconium set in sterling silver and bonded in 18-karat gold and platinum.  As official spokesperson for the line, Zeman will continue to appear regularly on the network in 2006 for all future Allure Collection segments. Looks like heads are about to roll again at ATWT.  Buzz is that Kin Shriner (Keith) and Brian Gaskill (BJ) could be OUT. Although both actors are more than capable, and Gaskill only just arrived on the Oakdale canvas, there is just no real story for either of them. Last airdates are Dec/Jan. Split Reflections follows the successful launch of ABC Daytime's first character blog, "Robin's Daily Dose" featuring the return of two-time Emmy winner Kimberly McCullough as Robin Scorpio on General Hospital.  Robin's Daily Dose has recieved approximately 400,000 page views since its launch on October 12, 2005.  "The success of our character blogs not only puts ABC Daytime at the forefront of new media opportunities, it also enhances the viewing experience for our fans," said Brian Frons, president, ABC Daytime. Continuing the rich history of DOOL, Jessica follows in the footsteps of her mother, Viki (6-time Daytime Emmy winner, Erika Slezak), who herself suffers from DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder).  In the coming months you will see both Jess and Tess struggle to remain the dominnt personality and face the reality of becoming a mother.  As Jessica works to discover the reasons why Tess was created, Tess has to fight not to be eliminated.  Jess and Tess will share their reflections, as they each try to preserve their relationships with Antonio (Kamar de los Reyes) and Nash (Forbes March) respectively.  Eariler this year, fans were able to take an interactive role in OLTL with the bestselling novel, The Killing Club.  If you read Marcie's (Kathy Brier) novel, you had a blueprint for the murderer's next move.  Split Reflections is live online now. Soapdom caught up with Eden Riegel (Bianca, AMC) last night at the reading of Agnes of God in Pasadena, CA.  When asked about her return to All My Children for a few weeks in late December, early January, her face lit up like a Christmas Tree. She talked about returning to "my family."  She misses the people terribly and tunes in every couple of weeks just to see what's going on with the show.  And she had only the kindest things to say about some of the new people, especially Kelli Giddish, the actress who plays Di. Stay tuned for more with Eden Riegel coming soon. (Contributed by MG)

For the past few weeks, there have been rumors regarding the fates of two of ABC Daytime's long-loved actors.  According to Roger Friedman of Fox News Online, "ABC Daytime continues to astound. They think by getting rid of veteran actors, or paying them little, ratings will go up. I don't know where they got this idea. Now, two admired award winners are being toyed with by management ' Julia Barr on 'All My Children' and Hilary Bailey Smith on 'One Life to Live.' Each is worth her weight in the kewpie dolls that would replace them. Fork over the bucks, ABC'"  ABC Daytime declines to comment on contract talks. (Contributed by CL)

Big Buzz from ABC Daytime.  They have not one, not two, but three major initiates launching or about to launch this month.  Check it out...

ABC Daytime Reel Moms   In conjunction with Loews Cineplex Entertainment Reel Moms program, a weekly film screening that offers mothers a chance to see first-run movies and bring their babies with them - without the fear of disturbing fellow moviegoers -- ABC Daytime is sponsoring the Reel Moms program at Select Loews and Cineplex Entertainment movie theaters across the country this fall. During the weekly Reel Mom screenings, the theater plays a promotional commercial for ABC Daytime Soap Operas prior to the movie. ABC Daytime Brand Ambassadors are onsite from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. distributing information about the ABC Daytime lineup, and ABC branded premiums serve as trivia contest prizes. Cities participating include Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, DC, Long Island, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle. The program will run through January, 2006. (Contributed by LMS)

ABC Daytime Campus Invasion    ABC daytiime could be coming to your college campus.  ABC is enlisting campus organizations at 15 colleges/universities across the country to compete over the course of three days, encouraging college kids "to get hooked and win" on "All My Children." At the end of the competition, 180 viewing parties will have taken place during the airing of "All My Children," and one half-hour before and after the show. Students will be judged on the three A's -- attendance, appearance and attitude. The group that throws the best party over the course of the three-day competition will win a semi-finalist prize valued at approximately $300, and will be in the running for the grand prize competition. The final, grand prize winner will receive a party thrown by ABC Daytime, with appearances by ABC soap stars, and the party will also be taped for national air and will run as interstitial spots during the ABC Daytime drama lineup. Additionally, the first 30 attendees at each party receive an ABC Daytime branded premium, and attendees who correctly answer trivia questions will each receive one of 10 specially branded items. The campus competitions will take place in the Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York and San Francisco markets during the weeks of Nov. 28-Nov. 30 or Dec. 5-7, and will be promoted on campus through posters, flyers and college newspaper ads. Based on the popular "Which Desperate Housewife Are You?" quiz, ABC Daytime will offer two versions of the each quiz, "What Daytime Diva Are You Most Like?" and "What Soap Hunk Is Your Perfect Match?" Fans will have the chance to release their inner "All My Children's" Erika Kane or find a perfect match with someone like "General Hospital's" Sonny Corinthos. The quizzes are accessible from the ABC Daytime section at ABC.com/Daytime.  And okay, I confess. I took the Hunk quiz.  Do you know who my perfect match is?  Tad from AMC.  LOL. Whodda thunk! November 11, 2005

According to Soap Opera Digest and the actress herself, the firing of Kari Wuhrer (ex-Reese, General Hospital) is becoming more controversial than anyone anticipated.  The actress, who joined the show earlier this year, claims she was shocked to learn of her exit from executives in September after having had her option picked up on July 17th.  In the latest issue of the publication, Wuhrer is quoted as saying:  "'Why didn't you tell me a month ago that something was wrong?' I had no indication at all.  By all accounts, everything was going great.  And to be told I'm not sexy is a baffling statement, considering I've built my career on it for 20 years."  She remains mum on any details of a lawsuit when pressed by Digest.  But what Wuhrer does say indicates that she is indeed taking some kind of action against the ABC sudser. "I'm giving them an opportunity to do the right thing.  At this point, I have an obligation not only to myself, but to the women on that show.  It sucks going through this emotionally and being pregnant and at the same time.  It's not like I can go out there and get another job, so not only did it kill a little bit of my spirit, but took away my livelihood." A spokesperson for GH refutes the charges, claiming, "We are not aware of any lawsuit."  Here's the thing. If Wuhrer does take GH to task for wrongful termination, it could place a black cloud on the rest of her career. Other shows or films may think twice about hiring her if they see she has a record of suing her former employers.  It's unfortunate, but it's Hollywood.  Although, when Hunter Tylo (Taylor, B&B) sued and won against Aaron Spelling because she wasn't "sexy enough" after landing a role on Melrose Place and then getting preggers and ultimately fired, it hasn't hurt her career. Or did it?  Time will tell. (Contributed by LDB with LMS)

Tyler Christopher (Nikolas, GH) is recovering from surgery after suffering a broken arm on November 8.  According to his official website, www.tylerchristopher.com, the actor was released from the hospital on November 10 and is expected to make a full recovery.  His website also states that his role will be recast for several days (4 or 5 subject to change), until he is back on his feet.  Word is that Chris Beetam (ex Jordan, ATWT) will be stepping in, although that could also be subject to change.  Soapdom wishes Christopher a speedy recovery.  (Contributed by LMS)

In more Tyler Christopher buzz, it also seems that the actor is fighting back -- against his own fans!  On a recent online post on his official website, www.tylerchristopher.com, Christopher attacked those gossip mongers who charged that he and costar Alicia Leigh Willis (soon-to-be ex-Courtney) were a couple. "Alicia and I are not together. I repeat -- not a couple. What you see on screen is called good acting," Christopher wrote. "And just FYI.  If you were to ask Natalia (Livingston, Emily ... and Christopher's former reel and real-life flame) what she thinks she would tell you how foolish all of this bull---- really is.  As far as the certain 'fans' who are now trashing my name goes -- thanks but no thanks for your trust and loyalty." Somebody has gotten his knickers in a twist!  In a way, Christopher and Leigh-Willis being a real life couple is not that far a stretch. After all, he has a history of hooking up with his co-stars.  Most recently, Natalia Livingston (Emily). Before that, he was married to Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), who stood in for Vanessa Marcil (ex Brenda), and prior to Longoria, Christopher was engaged to Marcil  herself.  Definitely a pattern here, no?  (Contributed by LDB & LMS)

Rebecca Budig (soon-to-be ex Greenlee, AMC) has completed taping her final episodes.  The Emmy nominee has been a member of the AMC family for six years. Her final airdate is scheduled for November 30.  (Contributed by LDB)
There's buzz about Paolo Seganti (Damian, As The World Turns) returning to Oakdale in the near future. (Contributed by LDB)

Grayson McCouch (Dusty, As The World Turns) has decided to re-sign with the show.  He made his ATWT debut in 2003. (Contributed by LDB)
As previously reported at Soapdom, Jake Weary (Luke, As The World Turns) last appears on November 29th. His replacement, Van Hansis, shown at left, begins on December 14. (Contributed by LDB & LMS)
Rick Hearst (Rick, General Hospital) has decided to stick around Port Charles for a bit longer.  As he tells Digest:  "I've signed on for three more years here.  I want to see this character continue to evolve. I love this show and I have high hopes for what's ahead for this character." (Contributed by LDB)

Addison and Alex Hoover (Phoebe and Steffy, The Bold and Beautiful) have been demoted to recurring status. (Contributed by LDB)

According to the Chicago Sun-Times Bruce Dumont, who is the owner of the famous Chicago's Museum of Broadcasting is pressing the flesh at a Hollywood soiree to raise funds for his new Museum of Broadcast Communications. Among the expected attendees are TV icons Lee Phillip Bell, co-owner of The Young and the Restless, and other famous Chicago celebs like Edie Adams and Jayne Meadows, and transplanted Chicagoans Donna Mills and "Desperate Housewives" hunk (and former Harry Caray's waiter) James "Jamie" Denton. (Contributed by MEW)

Rumors are flying that Hillary B.Smith (Nora, One Life to Live), who possibly will be out in December when her contract expires, has been seen talking to exec's of other soaps. Stay tuned. (Contributed by MEW)

In other Llanview news... Scott Bryce (ex-Craig Montgomery; 1990's) will pop unto town as Dr. Crosby and will have an interesting storyline to debut in late December. (Contributed by MEW)

Pine Valley will be brimming this holiday season as Eden Riegel (Bianca Montgomery) returns to All My Children for a visit this Christmas. She will bring baby Miranda with her.  Soapdom will be hooking up with the daytime Emmy-winner next week and we'll be on the case to get a sneak peek at the whys and wherefores of her return to PV. Stay tuned. (Contributed by MEW & LMS)

Another Kasnoff in Oakdale? As reported in Soapdom casting, looks like Mike (Mark Collier) will soon be getting a cousin. Tall, dark, handsome and muscular, Jordon Woolley has been cast as Nick Kasnoff on As The World Turns and will debut on December 27.  (Contributed by MEW)

Look for Galen Gering (Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald) to appear in one episode on Passions next week, but only in a dream if you catch my drift.  (Contributed by MEW)

November 10, 2005

Daytime Emmy Award winner, Eden Riegel (ex Bianca/AMC) will join JoBeth Williams and Meredith Baxter in a staged reading of Agnes of God by John Pielmeir at Pasadena, California's Boston Court performing arts complex on November 15 & 16 at 7:30pm.  The play is a soul searching argument about miracles and the clash between reason and faith.  Proceeds benefit CCAP's educational outreach program.  For tickets and more information:  626-683-6883 or http://www.bostoncourt.org(Contributed by LMS)

James Reynolds (Abe, DOOL) will be a presenter at this year's LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards, celebrating excellence in theatre, at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Monday, November 14th.  Other celebrity presenters include Joe Mantegna, Rain Pryor and Sally Kellerman.  Reynolds owns and operates the Fremont Centre Theatre in South Pasadena and recently directed son Jed Reynolds as baseball legend Jackie Robinson in "National Pastime."  The Los Angeles Times named "National Pastime" a "Critics Choice."  (Contributed by LMS)

Soapdom will have autographed copies of his latest CD, The Day After Yesterday, to giveaway in December.  Stay tuned for more details. Plus, Springfield is scheduled to perform LIVE on ABC's The View on Thursday December 1st!  As previously reported at Soapdom,  Dr. Drake will return to Port Charles to assist Dr. Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) cure Jason Morgan (Scott Burton) of his life threatening seizures.  Springfield, who left General Hospital in 1983 to focus on his...

... burgeoning music career, will appear on the show from Friday, December 2nd through Wednesday, December 7th. No word just yet if Dr. Drake will resume his steamy romance with kinetic nurse Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman). (Contributed by LMS)

Guiding Light mourns the loss of their dear friend and colleague, Rick Rhodes, shown here at left with co-composer, Danny Pelphrey.  Rhodes passed away this morning at home in Oak Park, CA. He is survived by his wife (songwriter) Vivian Rhodes, and their two children, daughter Allison who currently attends Pepperdine University in Malibu, and son Adam who is in high school. A memorial service is being planned. Rhodes was a multiple-Emmy-winning composer, music director, recording artist, songwriter, production library music producer, founding member of the Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival in Thousand Oaks, and drama teacher at Oak Park High School.  Rhodes composed music for many daytime dramas including Days of our Lives, As The World Turns, Another World, and Guiding Light including co-writing the 2003-2005 Guiding Light opening theme with composer Danny Pelfrey.  He also wrote songs and musicals, music for video games and production libraries. His website is http://www.magicisland.com/rr/. We all will miss his inexhaustible contributions and talent.  Soapdom had the wonderful opportunity to interview Rhodes and Pelphrey when Guiding Light introduced it's 2003-2005 opening theme.  Read it. (Contributed by LMS)

On Friday, November 11th, As The World Turns will debut a music video on over 1,400 "Movie Tunes" screens across the country.  The video will feature the song "Take the World" by Evan Olsen. (Contributed by LMS)

As previously reported, Guiding Light will debut a new show open on Monday, November 14th.  The new open will feature favorite characters in a variety of sets, situations and couplings.  Executive Producer Ellen Wheeler directed the series of silent vignettes, urging her actors to think of them as "in character acting exercises" showing off different moods and aspects of their characters.  Actors were given the chance to improvise bits of business ranging from the dramatic -- Gus and Harley enjoying a romantic, champagne toast, to the comedic -- Dinah and Mallet offering their version of "Taming of the Shrew," to the sexy -- Tammy and Jonathan losing their inhibitions.  GL's new logo will debut along with the revamped open and new theme.  The theme was written by Ron Kome.  The date is subject to change. Then, in December, look for old familiar faces to stop by Springfield for the holidays. (Contributed by MEW & LMS)

The Pinters thanked Mayor Keller, stating that they loved the town of New Hope and appreciated being so warmly welcomed by its citizens.
