USO Sends Days of our Lives' James Reynolds on Handshake Tour to Troops Overseas
Alison Sweeney and Matt Cedeno Tag Along this Year!
The USO will send James Reynolds, star of NBC-TV’s "Days of Our Lives," to the Mediterranean this holiday season to bring a "touch of home" to American service members.
Reynolds, who stars as Abe Carver on DOOL, made a similar journey last year to Kuwait. Reynolds will be on hand to sign autographs, tour military facilities and mingle with the troops. He has enlisted fellow castmates Alison Sweeney (Sami) and Matt Cedeno (Brandon) to join him on the tour this year!
Reynolds joined the Marines following graduation from high school. After boot camp he was stationed in Hawaii and assigned to the Information Service Office where he became a reporter for the service newspaper, The Windward Marine. Later Reynolds was sent to Vietnam where he served for a year in a variety of units, including battlefield reporting and combat, in and around
Chu Lai.
For more than 60 years, the USO (United Service Organizations) has "Delivered
America" to America’s military personnel. The USO is a Congressionally
chartered, non-profit organization, and is not a government agency. Reynolds
will join the ranks of other celebrities that have toured for their country,
including Steve Martin, Salma Hayek, Sheryl Crow, Dennis Franz, James Garner
and many others.
