...Her Love of Singing

"When I was 10 or 11, I competed in beauty pageants. They were talent competitions also, and I wanted a chance to dance. My mom didn't know if that was appropriate, because I never took dance lessons. I kind of - free styled. And mom was like - 'Oh, I don't know.' So, we decided I would sing. And I lost every singing competition. I was not a singer. But then I met a choreographer named Gary White, and he saw potential in me. Even though he wasn't a vocal technician, he still knew how to feel a song. He taught me this one special song. Ever since that day when he sat me down and worked with me on it, I used that song to compete and I won every vocal competition. I never won beauty again! That was the impetus that drove me to get involved with singing."

...The Road to Passions

"At about age 13, I auditioned for the role of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. It was being presented at the McCallum Theater in Palm Springs. I got the part! I had to train with three Totos! It was really cool. Then, I played in Jesus Christ Superstar. When I was 16, I moved with my parents to Las Vegas, where I auditioned for Viva Las Vegas at the Sands Hotel. I was the lead singer in that for a little bit. In between, I recorded with Jackie Jackson and Dino from 24/7. At 18, I moved to New York to appear in Grease on Broadway. I understudied Sandy and Patty. From there, I moved back to Las Vegas and tried out for the role of Maria in WestSide Story . It was being presented at the Paramount in Austin, Texas. I did that for a little bit, then moved back home. But I decided it was time to move to Los Angeles. So I did! And was cast in Beetlejuice's Rocking Graveyard Review at Universal Studios Hollywood. Did that for a little while, then auditioned for Pygmalion, the True Story in Cypress, and for a few months, I got to perform by the Mediterranean Sea. It was awesome. Then, I came back to LA and decided to audition for some film and television work. My second audition was Passions. And I got blessed! My Lord! So many times. I got this wonderful opportunity to play Theresa, who I just love playing."

...A Typical Day at Work

"If I have a 6 AM call, meaning I have to be at work by 6 AM, I'll get up at 4 AM, and read my script and hang out with my dogs. I feed them, and walk them outside. Even if it's cold, I try to come out and hang out with them in the morning. My backyard is really nice. I can see the mountains from there. If I have a later call time, I definitely spend time out in my yard."

"My call time can be anywhere from 6 AM to 4:30 PM. The most show's I've taped in one day is scenes from four episodes. That's a lot of hair and makeup changes. (For the acting) you really have to know where we're coming from and where we're going to. We do a lot of out-of-order shooting, meaning the taping of scenes is not necessarily how they chronologically appear in an episode. We get the script for a show maybe four or five days before we shoot it. But I usually don't get the chance to look at it until the day before. "

"I usually work five days a week. We all work so much. But it's really cool the way the show is written, because we all get to work a lot, and then get a few days off."

...The Passions Cast

"Being on Passions is so awesome. It's an honor. A pleasure. Everyone is so wonderful. The whole Lopez-Fitzgerald family is a blast to work with. We love working together. I love working with my best friends on the show, Brooke Kerr (Whitney) and Travis Schuldt (Ethan), who really is the sweetest guy. Ben Masters (Julian), Kim Ulrich (Ivy) - everyone on the cast is so great."

"Jesse Metcalf, my brother Miguel, and I hang out. We went to a club recently and as we were handing over our tickets, someone said 'Oh, it's so nice you're taking your sister out!' We look so much alike, that in real life, people really think we are related. I went shopping with my mom in the show (Eva Tamargo Lemus, Pilar), and the same thing happened. 'Is she really your daughter? You look so young,' they said to Eva. We just played along."

...Mooning Over Ethan

"This is the way I justify it. Theresa really loves this guy. That's why she thinks about him all the time. She really, REALLY loves this person. However, now that Gwen and Ethan are seriously talking marriage, Theresa is focusing more on her fashion career and making changes in her life. She is trying to go back to work."
