Matthew Ashford (Jack, DOOL)Days Of Our Lives' Matthew Ashford will last air on September 21st.  The actor, who is a veteran of the long-running show, making pitstops in Salem from 1987 to 1993, and again in 2001-2003, with what looks like to have been the start of his final bow in 2004.  The actor tells the magazine:  "As Ken (Corday, DAYS' executive producer) said, the door isn't shut to me coming back and I hope that that's true.  There's no time schedule or anything, but I definitely feel there's a lot of things Jack Deveraux can do above and beyond the character of Jennifer."  The actor's last remark refers to his leading lady Melissa Reeves (Jennifer) who opted not to renew her contract.  Reeves' last airdate is also scheduled for September 21st.  Ashford will fill his days performing in the Interact Theatre's production of "Urinetown, the Musical." The play previews September 14 and opens September 16 at the MATRIX THEATRE 7657 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood, CA. Call (323) 852-1445 for ticket info.  Contributed by LDB & LMS

Austin Peck (Austin, DOOL)More is revealed about the exits of Days Of Our Lives' Austin (Austin Peck) and Carrie (Christie Clark):  The once formidable couple will make their last appearance in October.  A show spokesperson, per SOD, reports:  "We are in an incredible time of change at the moment.  As exciting as this time is, it does necessitate changes in cast and story.  There will be a shift in the cast and unfortunately, the characters of Carrie and Austin will be leaving.  Fortunately, their exits will be happy for everyone involved in Salem."  Clark has been on board off and on as Roman Brady's daughter since 1986.  Peck, on the other hand, replaced Patrick Muldoon in the role of Austin Reed in 1995 and stayed with the show until 2002.  Both Clark and Peck returned in 2005.  Contributed by LDB

John Aniston (Victor, DOOL)According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Jennifer Aniston and beau Vince Vaughn have rushed to the side of the actress' father, actor John Aniston, (Victor Kiriakis of DOOL), as he recovers from a heart attack in a California hospital.  Soapdom was naturally very concerned by this report, so we got on the phone immediately and checked with our sources at Days.  The good news is, the Chicago Sun-Times has been misinformed.  John Aniston is healthy, up on his feet and was at work on the set of Days as of yesterday (Thursday, August 24th).  We have been assured by our set-side sources, that Aniston did not suffer a heart attack.  Thank goodness!  Contributed by MEW & LMS

Terri Colombino (Katie, ATWT)ATWT fans and fans of the tome, "Oakdale Confidential," guess what? One book about the goings on in Oakdale wasn't enough. Apparently, there are additional hidden agendas to expose. Enough, in fact for a new, expanded edition titled, "Oakdale Confidential: Secrets Revealed," that goes on sale November 14 at SimonSays.com.  This time, the author is not Annonymous, it's Katie Peretti (as told to Alina Adams).
