Shemar Moore hosts celebration.

...in association with The Robey Theatre Company, SAG and AFTRA

Actor Shemar Moore will host the 2nd African American Talent Showcase sponsored by CBS in association with the Robey Theatre Company, SAG and AFTRA that will be held Wednesday, Oct. 27 at CBS Television City in Los Angeles.  Ben Guillory, Producing Artistic Director of the Robey Theatre Company, will direct the event.

CBS Entertainment executives, plus casting directors, show runners and producers from the Network's primetime and daytime programs, will be on hand at the Showcase -- and an invitation has also been extended to casting directors from production companies that work with CBS.

After a two-year absence, Moore recently returned to the role of Malcolm Winters on CBS's daytime drama, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS.   His first appearance will be on Oct. 27.
Moore first joined THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS in 1994. In 2000, he won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.    Moore recently ended a five-year run as the host of the long running dance show "Soul Train" and starred opposite Tom Selleck, William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman in the CBS miniseries "Scott Turow's Reversible Errors."  His other television credits include the series "Birds of Prey," the movie "How to Marry a Billionaire" and hosting the 1999 Miss USA Pageant.  Moore's feature film credits include "Butter," "Motives," "The Brothers" and the upcoming "The Seat Filler" and "Diary of a Mad Black Woman."

In addition to his Emmy Award, Moore has won five NACCP Image Awards.

To date, CBS's talent showcases have included the Latino American Talent Showcases in partnership with NOSOTROS; the Native American Talent Showcases in association with American Indians in Film and Television; the first African American Showcase in collaboration with The Robey Theatre Company, the Asian Pacific American Actors Showcases in association with East West Players and a showcase for performers with disabilities in association with the California State Media Access Office.

The Network's on-going talent showcases are part of the CBS Diversity Institute, a comprehensive program designed to identify and develop diversity within the writing, directing and talent communities.  In addition to the Minority Talent Showcases, currently in their third year, the CBS Diversity Institute also includes the CBS Writers Mentoring Program and the CBS Directing Initiative.
