Kassie dePaiva (Eve, Days of our Lives)Kassie DePavia, who plays Eve Donovan on Days of our Lives, is only on the show a short time, but she is quite the conversation of topic around the water cooler. Trouble is her middle name and who knows what lurks in the background, as she has quite the sorted past.

"I know! I love her. Eve is a splash of color on the canvas," DePavia said. "Without a doubt, Eve is a handful. I still haven't figured her out, and when I pick up the script I'm like...Oh my God! What is she doing now?"

Eve was previously played by Charlotte Ross, but has not been seen in over a decade. When DePavia was called and offered the role, she was over the moon.

DePavia of course is a daytime veteran, best know for her long-running role as Blair on One Life To Live, and when the show was cancelled, she found herself out of work like many of the other talented actors.

"It was Dec 16th I received a call from my agent to play Eve. The powers that be contacted him and he called me, I was like Ho Ho Ho! What a Christmas gift." DePavia said. "I started taping on January 30th. I have six months working in the can -- less time on the air because of the advance taping schedule -- and here I am."

DePavia admits that playing Blair and playing Eve is really different. She said that she has approached Blair differently. "Both have daughters. Both were somewhat similar, but Eve is more desperate. I love that she needs to have what she wants. But in real life, I'm closer to Blair. Blair was the diamond in the rough, where Eve lacks the class, and she does everything and does it out loud."

DePavia's first job was on Guiding Light and of course the rest is history. "I believe it is the luck of the draw. Success is success, but always having an entertaining character has certainly kept me in the game."

DePavia still lives on the East Coast and commutes to Los Angeles for the show, and said with Days taping schedule of three weeks working and one week off, it fits her lifestyle fine.

"Hey! When I go home I turn into super mom and it's back to being who I am."

Relocating to LA for De Pavia was a challenge, but she is adjusting. She has an apartment that she shares with her niece, who recently moved to California, and she takes it a day at a time. But said that she is one lucky gal! Everything is working. The show, the travel, so if it isn't broke, don't fix it!"

DePavia also said her first day on the set was all jitters. "C'mon! A new show. A new boss. New actors. A new set. Are you kidding?" she said. "But I must tell you everyone at Days from cast to crew is so great that I'm having a really great time."

Soapdom wants to know if you have a message to your many fans? "Oh let's see...First I want to Thank You so much for being there and following my career, and for all of your support and tuning in, and to my One Life To Live fans, I'm grateful you are now following me to Salem and you will not be disappointed."

DePavia hinted that in the future you will see her sing a bit more on the show, and said Eve will continue to entertain. Stay tuned!

Days of our Lives' Casey Moss: from restaurant to playing JJ Deveraux

From working at a tai restaurant to playing bad boy JJ. Deveraux on Days of our Lives, Casey Moss is making a mark in daytime television, and can be on his way to being one of Salem's latest's "Hot Hunks."

"I know! (laughing) It is quite unbelievable how all this came into play," Moss explains. "I was working at the restaurant and my manager came in and said that I'm booked for Days to audition, and I guess you can say...the rest is history. It was total shock and a full blast and a rush."
