Liza Huber Returns to Passions as Gwen
Actress Liza Huber will return to Passions to play the role of socialite Gwen Hotchkiss, Executive Producer Lisa S. Hesser announced on Friday, August 2, 2002.
Huber, daughter of Emmy-winning soap icon Susan Lucci, originated the role of Gwen when Passions debuted in July 1999. She vacated the role in the fall of 2000 as she then felt that acting was not her calling. Passions recast the role of Gwen with now departing actress, Natalie Zea.
"Natalie made the decision to leave Passions to pursue other acting opportunities and it seemed a perfect fit to bring Liza back to the
role she initiated," said Hesser.
All of this makes perfect sense based on Susan Lucci's comments regarding her daughter Liza at Super Soap Weekends West last spring. When asked if Liza was still staying away from acting, Lucci responded that no, actually she was again getting back into the profession.
Huber will first be seen as Gwen Hotchkiss on Passions on October 3, 2002. Her first tape date is September 3, 2002.
One Life to Live Casts Mystery Lady
Barbara Niven has been cast in a contract role on One Life to Live. ABC Daytime is being rather mum as to who her character will be and has not released a character name.
Television audiences will remember Niven as Marilyn Monroe in HBO's "The Rat Pack," and from her recurring role on The Bold & the Beautiful.
Although ABC Daytime isn't saying much about Niven's character, they have revealed that she will have a shocking relationship with someone in Llanview. Who that may be, and what the shocking relationship is, remains to be seen. Niven begins airing on One Life to Live the first week of September 2002. Stay tuned!
