Soapdom congratulates The View. The morning gab fest celebrates its 3000th show on Thursday, September 23, 2010.  Nothing is off limits during this one-hour celebration reflecting upon the show’s inception and featuring a spectacular on-air video retrospective set to include memorable moments, unforgettable guests, show “firsts,” all the past and present co-hosts, “surprise guests” and one big ticket audience giveaway. In the days and weeks leading up this momentous occasion, you will be treated to segments going back to 1997 (the year “The View” premiered) for a fun, informative and educational peek at the hottest topics, fashions and trends of that year, as well as unique video packages highlighting the show’s “worst” moments and segments (anyone recall the “Pizza Dance”?), according to show producers and staff, and a moving “In Memoriam” tribute.  Plus, for a special treat CRUMBS Bake Shop has created the official “3000th Show” signature size cupcake that will be sold at all CRUMBS locations, as well as online (www.crumbs.com), beginning September 23 to coincide with its on-air debut during the “3000th Show.” Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";}

In January 2010, Procter and Gamble assembled the online talent search, "Brighten Bay Idol" as part of a Cheer soap campaign. The contest invited aspiring actors to log on to BrightenBay.com to send in their audition tapes for an opportunity to win a trip to New York City and a walk-on role on As The World Turns.  Beating out the competition was Jennifer Jean of California, who will appear on the sow as "Nurse Greta" on August 30.

Speaking of As the World Turns, special scenes airing this week were shot on location at the beautiful Oheka Castle in Huntington, New York.

Vanessa Marcil GiovinazzoPeople Magazine's August 16th issues has a small article on Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo's return to Generel Hospital as Brenda Barrett.  There's a picture to accompany it and the girl still looks gorgeous.  I would assume it hits newstands Friday or Monday, but in New York we get things as early as Thursdays.  Plus, Marcil Giovinazzo was on The View today.  She didn't give much away in terms of story...just how she begged the show to take her back because she realized that being on GH was one of the happiest times in her life.  Contributed by Laura DeBrizzi
