The new Katie Couric talker, 'The Katie Couric Show,' has been in development for over a year.  ABC has just announced the date and timeslot for the new talk show -- September 10, 2012 at 3 PM.

Just what we need. Another talker.  What's at risk here is General Hospital.  3 PM is when GH airs on the east coast (it airs at 2 PM Pacific time, so Katie could very easily take over the 3 PM slot which is currently occupied by The Doctor Oz show on the westcoast. But then, where would Dr. Oz go?)

Last September, all of soapdom was saddened to learn that General Hospital's Kirsten Storms (Maxie) had taken ill and would not be appearing on the soap for some time. In order to keep her character on-air, General Hospital recast the role temporarily with soaps newcomer, Jen Lilley. Lilley took on the character, filling Storms huge shoes, and has succeeded in making Maxie her own as she pinch hits for Storms.
