Luke & Laura run into their worst nightmare
Even I didn't see Frank Smith coming. Yes, I was suspicious of Jennifer. But this was quite a surprise. On the surface, the reveal that Frank Smith is alive seems silly. But, what better way to bid farewell to Luke than to put him up against his greatest enemy?
It all goes back to that rich Port Charles history – the campus disco, the emergence of the seemingly "shady" Luke Spencer – older brother of Nurse Bobbie Spencer. Way back then, Luke worked for Frank Smith. He was the reason Luke and Laura went on the run in the first place, all those years ago.
So this makes sense, finally. Well – kind of. We all remember that Luke killed Frank Smith in Puerto Rico 20 years ago. So how is it that Mr. Smith survived? I suppose we didn't really see Frank Smith take his last breath. And anything could have happened after the shooting. I guess that's the beauty of daytime television.
I understand that Carly has returned to a life with Sonny. What I don't understand is how Carly got all of this past Jax. I can't believe that Jax approves of his daughter spending time at Sonny's house. This would be a really great time for Jax to return to town. He could really stir things up with Carly and Sonny.
What is wrong with Dante? Why does he think the worst of Lulu? It's kind of sad – Lulu didn't trust Dante enough to tell him the truth. And Dante doesn't trust Lulu enough to believe that she has a valid reason for being in Canada.
In actor news, yes that was Rick Springfield (ex Noah) on the June 28 episode of HBO's "True Detective." The actor will be back in a follow up episode of the popular cable series. Rebecca Budig (Hayden) may return to the show sooner rather than later. So far, no official word has come from the soap.
