Special two week engagement at Feinstein's at the Regency

Lorenzo Lamas (Hector, B&B)Lorenzo Lamas, who plays Hector Ramirez on The Bold and the Beautiful, makes his New York cabaret debut with LORENZO SINGS ABOUT LOVE, a special two-week engagement scheduled to play Feinstein’s at the Regency (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street) from October 31 to November 11. The performance schedule for the highly-anticipated show, created by celebrated singer, pianist, musical historian, and nightclub owner Michael Feinstein, is Tuesday through Saturday at 8:30 p.m. with late shows on Friday and Saturday at 11 p.m.

Lamas will be accompanied by musical director and arranger Mary Eckler, pianist Jeff Colella, and guitarist Don DeMarco, who is Vic Damone’s longtime bandleader. The show is directed by Stuart Ross, who penned the Off-Broadway hit Forever Plaid and wrote and directed Diahann Carroll’s show at Feinstein’s last year.

LORENZO SINGS ABOUT LOVE features an eclectic repertoire of love songs and ballads, from standards of the Great American Songbook to contemporary hits and sultry Latin tunes. The song list includes such timeless classics as "Night and Day" by Cole Porter, "Embraceable You" by George and Ira Gershwin, and the Sammy Kahn hits "Please Be Kind" and "Teach Me Tonight," as well as contemporary selections including kd Lang’s "Don’t Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes." Lamas will perform Lang’s "Calling All Angels" as a tribute to American troops overseas, and he will also sing two songs in Spanish -- Sid Wayne’s "It’s Impossible," featuring Spanish translation by Armando Manzanero, and Rafael Hernandez’s "El Cumban Chero" -- as a tribute to his father, legendary movie star Fernando Lamas.

For Lamas, making his New York cabaret debut – especially at Feinstein’s, New York’s premier nightclub – is a dream come true. "Lorenzo Sings About Love is my New York singing debut, and I couldn’t be more excited," he remarks. "I’ve sung in numerous benefits and recorded a hit song in 1984 called ‘Fools Like Me,’ which made it to the Top 100 charts, but I’ve never done a solo concert engagement. It has been incredibly thrilling to embark on a new artistic journey at this stage in my career. And of course, working with such an extraordinary talent as Michael Feinstein has been the opportunity of a lifetime."

The son of screen legends Arlene Dahl and Fernando Lamas, Lamas grew up in Southern California and moved to New York City when he was a teenager. He studied acting at Tony Barr’s Film Actors Workshop in Los Angeles, and landed his first big break at age nineteen, when he won the role of Tom Chisum in the blockbuster film Grease. From there, he was cast in several television roles including the primetime soap Falcon Crest. A black belt in Tae Kwon Do, Lamas has starred in numerous action films, including Snake Eater, Body Rock, and CIA Target Alexa, which he also directed. He produced, starred in, and directed occasional episodes of the syndicated television series Renegade, and appeared in the television series Air America, which inspired his passion for aviation. Lamas is the co-chair of several children’s charities, including Make a Wish, Muscular Dystrophy Association (ADA), and The Children’s Angel Foundation.

Tickets for LORENZO SINGS ABOUT LOVE, priced at $60 plus a $40 food and beverage charge, can be purchased by calling Feinstein’s at (212) 339-4095 or online by visiting feinsteinsattheregency.com and TicketWeb.com.
