Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced on The View February 8, 2006

On Wednesday, February 8, 2006, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 33rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The announcement was made live on ABC Daytime's The View, hosted by Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones Reynolds, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
The nominations were presented by an all-star lineup of daytime's leading actors including five-time Emmy winner, David Canary (Adam/Stuart, AMC), along with fellow AMC co-stars Alexa Havins (Babe), and Emmy winner Jacob Young (JR); Emmy winner Robin Strasser (Dorian, OLTL), Michael Easton (John, OLTL), Renee Goldsberry (Evangeline, OLTL), Scott Clifton (Dillon, GH), Kimberly McCullough (Robin, GH), Austin Peck (Austin, DOOL), Heidi Mueller (Kay, PAS), Frank Dicopoulos (Frank, GL), and Terri Colombino (Katie, ATWT).
Nominations were announced in the following categories: Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor/Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor/Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Young Actor/Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding TalkShow, Outstanding Talk Show Host, Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show and Outstanding Game Show Host.
However, listed below are the additional Craft Achievement Categories for Drama Series that were not announced on The View.
The awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from2 to 6 PM during the 2005 calendar year. This year's ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC on Friday, April 28, 2006 from Hollywood's famed Kodak Theatre from 8 - 11 PM ET. This will mark the first time the Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast from Hollywood in the 33-year history of the Awards ceremonies.
