Guiding Light’s Tom Pelphrey appears in An Evening of Don Nigro presented by the Apothecary Theater Company. The production consists of four short one-act plays by American playwright Don Nigro opening on December 11, at Theatre 54: 244 West 54 Street, New York, New York 10019, 12th floor. Previews run December 9 and 10. Pelphrey performs in two of the four plays. Pelphrey, was the 2006 and 2008 Guiding Light Daytime Emmy Award winner for his role as Jonathan Randall. He admits that an interesting challenge for him in playing Griffin in Wonders of The Invisible World Revealed “ is that you have to rely entirely on your voice to convey everything you are doing because my face is completely concealed in just this play. He is highly visible in Fair Rosamund and Her Murderer. Pelphrey added that he finds Nigro’s stories provocative, and scary and that they have a strong atmosphere, "like campfire storytelling.” Pelphrey’s soap opera fans will be pleased to know that they can now see him in a small intimate setting performing live, rather than watching him on “the tube.” “We are thrilled to have Tom Pelphrey in our company,” said Dennis Flanagan, Co-Artistic Director, “and I can honestly say that about every actor we have in Apothecary. Tom is a friend of ours from Rutgers, where our company was formed. Nigro’s works have been a constant in our theatre background at Rutgers University. As a company we get to explore his beautiful language, his incredibly well balanced humor and the darkness in his plays. If our audiences aren’t familiar with Nigro, they’re in for a treat.” Nigro’s plays Anima Mundi and The Dark Sonnets of the Lady were past nominees for the National Repertory Theatre Foundation's National Play Award. His plays presented in this production all seem to involve certain primal fears, people who find themselves lost, in extreme and in some sense dangerous situations. Nigro says, “In each of the four, I can't help noticing, there's a man and a woman trying to understand each other.” “All of the plays will be performed in the same evening,” said Shawn Renfro, Co-Artistic Director and Director of all four plays “the evening will highlight how Nigro is able to capture a sense of humor that turns dark in his plays and unveil a style of writing that unravels quite fluidly unlike most playwrights.” The company is committed to creating productions that are exclusively for the live theatre and they believe that Nigro’s plays can only be done as plays in the theatre. Says Renfro, with Flanagan concurring, “Many plays today could be made easily into movies; his can only be executed in the live theatre. This fits right into our mission in doing plays exclusively for the theatre.” The evening will consist of Nigro’s Fair Rosamund and Her Murderer: A humorous look at an X-Rated fairytale about capture, rapture and sex! The Sin Eater: A comic twist on necrophilia and true love. Something in the Basement: A play that tackles what happens when a husband and wife discover the consequences of fear and loathing in the bedroom and Wonders of the Invisible World Revealed: An encounter between two people, filled with self hate, irony and deceit and the possibility of being invisible in the Real World. The Cast includes: Tom Pelphrey and Kate Russell in Fair Rosamund and Her Murderer, Jonathan Karp, Samantha Ivers and Katya Campbell in The Sin Eater, Dennis Flanagan, and Katya Campbell in Something in the Basement, Tom Pelphrey and Kate Russell in Wonders of the Invisible World Revealed. Director, Shawn Renfro.

Soap Opera Digest reported that Sebastian Roche (Jerry, General Hospital) will appear on December 18th in some sort of interaction with Claudia. Contributed by LF
In more General Hospital Buzz, breathe easy, Godfather fans. One half of Port Charles' largest crime syndicate - led by Sonny Corinthos-will continue to make havoc throughout Christmas and the rest of the year round. Not long after it was announced that Sarah Brown (Claudia) re-signed with General Hospital comes word that Emmy winner, Maurice Benard will remain in her company. According to an article in Soap Opera Digest, a show spokesperson confirmed the actor's signing and added: "We are thrilled that Maurice Benard will be staying on the GH canvas for the foreseeable future." The contract's length was not revealed. Perhaps, this will give Kate (Megan Ward) enough time for a reunion with her guy from the neighborhood.... or at least until Brenda Vanessa Marcil) finally makes her long-awaited appearance. As the World Turns fans, you're in for another literary treat. This time, Henry Coleman (Trent Dawson), who is considered by many to be the "Cary Grant of Oakdale," pens his own novel. This is not the first time an Oakdale character has written a book. You remember "Oakdale Confidential," by Katie Peretti (Terri Colombino). Even the character of Jonathan (Tom Pelphrey) wrote a book about Guiding Light, even after Pelphrey had left the show. Henry Coleman's turn, titled "The Man From Oakdale" is set to be released in January from Simon & Schuster. Stay tuned for more info. Contributed by CL & LMS
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Lisa Rinna (ex co-host SoapTalk, ex Billie, Days of our Lives) and her husband, actor Harry Hamlin, have just signed on with TV Land to do a pilot presentation of an unscripted (aka reality) show about their home life -- to include their two daughters. "Ever since I started here (in May 2006), I've been out in the marketplace looking for a celebrity couple with dynamic stories to tell, and when I met Lisa and Harry, it made sense," said Keith Cox, TV Land's executive vp development and original programming. According to Cox, should TV Land go forward with the project, said to have generated interest from a few cable networks, it will go straight to a half-hour series pickup targeted for a 2009 debut. Of interest, however, are some of the comments to the article: "Keith Cox is a moron for even thinking these two boobs are the least bit interesting. Hey Viacom How about firing Cox and bringing back reruns of Andy Griffith." Or, "Why are they stooping soooooooooo low? I thought they both had more class, turns out no more class than Brittany whatsername!" Or this one: "who cares what those washups are doing?" The there's this one: "Please Lisa and Harry, don't do it." What's your take on a Lisa Rinna/Harry Hamlin reality show? Yay or nay? Tell us below in the comments section. Contributed by LMS

According to Sarah Brown's (Claudia; ex-Carly, General Hospital) agent, the actress has agreed to remain a member of General Hospital's cast for another year. Brown, herself, or rather, one of her peeps, posted it on Brown's Facebook page. To wit: "Sarah 's Agent Rhonda Price, who she loves, closed a deal to keep Sarah on GH another year ;) Oh Happy Day!" In more General Hospital Buzz, Jerry Jacks fans heads up. SOD is saying that Sebastian Roche (Jerry, General Hospital) is returning briefly for a few episodes. They weren't specific as to when he's back on screen. We get the impression it could be soon but some, just the rumor mill, are reporting not until spring. SOD doesn't usually report a "coming" or a "going" that far in advance so we're thinking it will be sooner rather than later. Stay tuned. Contributed by LF
Speaking of GH, in some Where Are They Now buzz, according to his official website, Ted King (ex Lorenzo Alcazar) will appear on Prison Break in the near future. King will play "Downey" for an undisclosed number of episodes. Prison Break airs Mondays on Fox - check your local listings. Contributed by LF

While in more General Hospital Buzz, is it possible that Vanessa Marcil (ex Brenda) is heading back to Port Chuck? Some print publications are saying just that. It would make sense. With Carly (Laura Wright) now on the warpath, Jax (Ingo Rademacher) will be single once again and we don't really foresee a romance between him and Kate (Rachel Ward). Brenda's other ex, namely Sonny (Maurice Benard) has just married mob princess, Claudia (Sarah Brown), and it would certainly be interesting to see Brenda weigh in on that. Marcil's primetimer, Las Vegas, was cancelled this year, so the actress is available, and we know from good authority -- namely she told us -- she loves General Hospital and working on the show. Stay tuned. Contributed by LMS
Speaking of the prime time show Las Vegas, Marcil's co-star, Josh Duhamel (ex Leo duPres, All My Children) is also now not tied down to a TV show contract. On today's AMC, Leo's brother, the devious Dr. Dave (Vincent Irizarry), who recently returned to Pine Valley himself, berated Greenlee (Rebecca Budig) for being with Ryan (Cameron Mathison). "What would Leo think?" he commented. Could this reference to Greenlee's once one and only love, Leo, mean he likewise could be headed back to Pine Valley? Would Duhamel reprise the role? Well, he's told us on numerous occassions that he loved his stint in daytime and credits his time on All My Children with enabling him to hone his acting chops. The Transformer's star has just finished lensing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and another feature film, When in Rome, both due out in 2009. Right now, he's planning his wedding to singer and actress Fergie (of the Black Eyed Peas). Would he welcome a gig that would not take him too far from home? As you recall, Leo died in a battle with his mother, Vanessa, when they both fell off a cliff. However, he wouldn't be the first character to return from the dead. Stay tuned. Contributed by LMS
