Guy Wilson (Will, Days of our Lives)On March 15th, Guy Wilson (Will, Days of our Lives) will be one of the participants running in the Los Angeles Marathon, and his goal is to raise money for Aids Awareness. He is participating in conjunction with APLA (Aids Project Los Angeles).

"Oh you bet! I can't wait," Wilson said. " I've heard about this several years ago, and I cannot tell you how I'm looking forward for this day to come."

Wilson said that this is a real challenge for him and he hopes that people, especially the Days of our Lives fans, come out to support him.

"I really want everyone to know how seriously I've have taken on this role," Wilson said. "Since last October I have been in training up until now. I'm up bright and early every Saturday at Griffith Park and running."

Wilson added that he is doing what is called an "endurance program." It is a program that he describes as a "fun diet to be on," consisting of eating and running.

Wilson will be running with a group of people all with the same goal in mind, which is to end Aids. He will be running 26.2 miles through Los Angeles, and said that this has been constant training and has been very challenging, but very rewarding. He hopes to complete the Marathon in under four hours. "I hope! With God's love."

Nearly 1.2 million Americans are now living with HIV and 56,000 will be infected this year. APLA has provided food, home health care, and other services to thousands of people whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS. Many of them living in poverty with no where to go, or no one with which to turn.

Wilson's goal is to raise $5000, but said he would like to exceed that. "Oh that would be terrific! I would be ecstatic," Wilson jubilantly said. "I have a feeling it will happen through the generosity of a great many people."

Wilson talked about how terrible this disease is and would love to see it wiped out in his life time. He said that medical resources have gotten better, but added that there still is a long way to go.

"People should become aware. I want people to become aware. There is no cure, and anyone can get it. It only takes one mistake."

Wilson believes in remaining physically fit in his normal every day life. He does maintenance runs, cross fit, and watches his weight. "I believe that taking care of your body is very important, and in the long run, it will reward you back with good health."

Anyone can donate to this worthy cause. You need not to live in Los Angeles, or attend the marathon (see info below).

"I want people to know that no matter what you donate, every bit is a help. And just think of what you are donating for and to be a part in finding a cure to end this horrible disease."

Soapdom wants to know any personal message to your fans? "Yes! Please come out and support me, and if you can't please donate and help me raise my goal. I will be forever grateful."
