The 42nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards are history, but the memorable moments will long remain. One word comes to mind to describe that night, and that word is "Magical."

The event, usually held at hotels or distinguished venues like the Dolby (formerly the Kodak) Theatre in Hollywood, or Radio City Music Hall in New York City, was held this year on the backlot at the prestigious Warner Bros Studios. Some would say: "that says it all." This was my second year of doing Red Carpet and I must say, I was in awe. Everything from the studios to the Red Carpet, to the host, lets just say the whole production was spectacular.

Upon my arrival at Warner Bros, I was asked for credentials by security, and after that the magic began. The reality hit when I was standing on the back lot of Warner Bros by the world famous WB tower.

The stars were arriving. The powers that be were arriving, and the limos were pulling in through the gates of Warner Bros. The Red Carpet was bustling with every media outlet with tons of cameras, lights, and cables all over. Get the picture? How can one not be excited?

And to think that this is the show to see Daytime TV's brightest stars all gathered in one venue for a night of celebration.

General Hospital's nine time Daytime Emmy winner Tony Geary and former co-Star Daytime Emmy Winner Genie Francis (c)POP TVThen you have Luke and Laura (Anthony Geary and Genie Francis) reunited onstage to present the Emmy for Best Daytime Drama, and then the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Betty White.

The stage is graced with Marie Osmond, Regis Philbin, Charo, and Fred Willard. The host for the evening was the drop dead gorgeous Tyra Banks, and I may add, she did an impeccable job. You could clearly see how much fun she was having!

For Banks, not only was she hosting, but she made it no secret that she herself is a fan of Daytime TV. Of course, The Tyra Banks Show, but she told the audience how she grew up watching General Hospital and the Young and the Restless and the influence it had and played on her life. In fact, Banks insisted that the only way she would host is if she can tell the audience what a fan she is.

This year's Daytime Emmy Awards were brought back to the high standards of the past. Michael Levitt, Executive producer of the show said that bringing back the show to the status it deserves is what it was all about. Levitt also is known for producing TV Land Awards and Skin Wars.

"I am just not the Executive producer, but a fan myself. My friends were watching sports and I grew up watching Opal on All My Children. What does that tell you?" Levitt said. "Daytime TV has some of the finest entertainment, along with some of TV's most talented performers. It's no secret the Emmy's for Daytime TV and the recognition it deserves was being lost."

Levitt said that his goal in producing the show was to make improvements since last year's streaming online broadcast, which in all honesty, left much to be desired.
