Episode #11259----Bo urges Rafe not to let Sydney's disappearance come between him and Sami. Rafe gets the forensics report from the ransom notes and takes it to the DiMera mansion where EJ is comforting Sami. Rafe reveals that the only DNA found on the notes belonged to EJ and accuses EJ of contaminating the evidence by failing to come forward sooner. EJ maintains the evidence was never there to begin with. Rafe is forced to admit he has no new leads, and Sami is devastated. As Sami and Rafe argue, EJ calls Anna and tells her that she should get her money soon. Sami tells Rafe she doesn't believe he's going to bring Sydney home. She runs out, and smug EJ watches their acrimonious parting.

Hope meets Justin for breakfast with the intention of telling him she has only feelings of friendship for him. They cross with Carly, and Justin tells Hope that Carly has changed. When he divulges what she said the day before about Hope and Justin, Hope is incensed and leaves to confront Carly. The two women hurl insults at each other and are interrupted by Bo, who takes Carly's side. Later, Carly sees that Bo is distracted and wonders whether he wants to go to Hope. Bo says no. He's where he wants to be. Meanwhile, Hope talks to Victor and then makes a mysterious phone call.

Vivian plots Carly's demise until a "visit" from Lawrence convinces her that she needs to return to Plan A, and off Melanie after all.

Maggie receives a delivery of belongings from Mickey's office, which Melanie helps her unpack. She finds an anniversary gift, and later, a bottle of scotch that a client gave Mickey for Christmas. After Melanie leaves, Maggie is left alone staring at the bottle. Meanwhile, after her emotional morning with Maggie, Melanie leaves Philip a sweet message saying how much she's looking forward to their life together.
