Like sands through the hour glass and just when you thought you couldn't get enough of your favorite soap, Days of our Lives, now you can see it again and again right on your computer.
Starting today, August 10, 2009, Days of our Lives will begin streaming full episodes of the
long-running Emmy Award-winning program daily at www.nbc.com/Days_of_our_Lives.
“NBC.com is pleased to add ‘Days of our Lives’ to the great line-up of shows available for streaming. ‘Days’ has such great fans - now they can watch every episode again on line!,” said Vivi Zigler, President, NBC Universal Digital Entertainment.
Fans will be able to view the past 10 episodes immediately. And, beginning Tuesday, August 11 (3:00 a.m. ET), the previous day's episode will be available. All episodes will be available for a duration of sixteen days.
“‘Days of our Lives’ has had such a long, rich history with NBC and our fans. It's wonderful that this new platform will both offer our current fans a whole new way to watch episodes they may have missed and attract new, young viewers to the show,” said Ken Corday, executive producer of “Days of our Lives.”
Plus at the Days site you'll find the “Days Insider Blog” for the latest news and interviews, watch daily sneak preview clips, interact with entertaining features like Ask the Hunk and the Quick Guide to Salem, play games, and engage with the lively community of dedicated fans.
The Emmy Award-winning drama boasts 13 Emmy nominations this year, including one for Best Daytime Drama. The Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on August 30.
Oh and in case you forgot, set in the fictitious Midwestern town of Salem, “Days of our Lives” follows multi-layered storylines involving romance, adventure, mystery and drama among four main families: the Bradys, the Hortons, the DiMeras and the Kiriakises. “Days of our Lives" will celebrate 44 years on the air on November 8, 2009. In its 43 years, “Days of our Lives” has garnered numerous Emmy awards and nominations. The show's success derives from its consistent commitment to excellence in writing and storytelling - supported by a diverse ensemble of performers - and an uncanny knack for anticipating viewer interests. With its mix of classic genre traditions and groundbreaking narratives reflecting modern life, "Days of our Lives" remains a perennial favorite among viewers of all ages.
Here's a little more for the trivia buffs: “Days of our Lives” is produced by Corday Productions Inc. in association with Sony Pictures Television. Executive producer Ken Corday is following in the tradition of his parents, Betty and Ted Corday, who co-created "Days of our Lives" and helmed the series for many years. Gary Tomlin is also executive producer. Dena Higley is the head writer and Christopher Whitesell is co-head writer.
But not to worry. Even with the new streaming episodes, Days will still be available on SOAPnet, airing same day episodes at night.
