The Bold and the Beautiful’s Emmy®-Award winning Costume Designer Birgit Muller will be featured in “The Outstanding Art of Television Costume Design 2006,” a first-time-ever exhibition showcasing 40 years of television’s most memorable costume designers sponsored by The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. The exhibition celebrates television costume design from 1966 to 2006 and will include more than 100 costumes and props from a variety of television genres giving visitors an opportunity to review their favorite TV shows and characters from yesterday and today.
Muller, who has been nominated four times for her work on The Bold and the Beautiful, with three consecutive wins; in 2004, 2005 and 2006, is the only Costume Designer being recognized from daytime television.
Three of Muller’s original designs will be displayed; a wedding gown from a Forrester Fashion show in 2004, a wedding gown from a Spectra Fashion Show in 2005 and a wedding gown worn by actress Katherine Kelly Lang, in the story line of ‘Brooke’s Wedding to Ridge is Halted by Nick,’ in 2006.
The Exhibit is free to the public and will be held in downtown Los Angeles, at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) Museum & Galleries and will run from Monday, July 10, 2006 through Saturday, September 9, 2006. The FIDM Museum and Galleries is located at 919 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90015 (Corner of Grand Avenue & 9th Street) and the exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, Monday through Saturday.
