Hey kids, and kids at heart! Planning a cook out this summer? Here is a fun kabob that you may have to fight off the adults with a sweet tooth.
When mom or dad are making kabobs for the grill with meat and veggies make your own. Use a variety of fruits and vegetables that you like.
Pineapple chunks, grapes, apple cubes, maraschino cherries, baby corn, button mushrooms, cucumber chunks, brussle sprouts, cherry tomatoes, or anything else you like or can think of. Skewer them on a stick. With an adults help, reduce ½ cup of teriyaki sauce and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter in a sauce pan. Brush kabob and grill for 4-5 minutes.
Door Art:
This can be a project just for you or for your friends and guests to enjoy all summer long. Cover your bedroom door with brown parcel wrap or the back side of wrapping paper (the white side) using paint safe tape and with your parents permission.
Then use two paper plates to make a marker holder. Cut one plate in half and place eating side in towards the eating side of a second plate that is whole. Tape, glue, or staple tightly around the edges making a mailbox. Decorate and hang outside your bedroom door. Fill with markers, colored pencils, pens, paint pens, anything you are allowed to use and have on hand.
Get your project started by doodling a little something on your paper covered door. Encourage your friends, family and summer guests to doodle or write a fun message until door is covered with graffiti.
