Dani RoeSoapdom 3-crown logoYou could say that Dani Roe's education and training in the soap opera industry started at about three years old. Her grandmother listened to Guiding Light when it was on the radio and followed it to television as a fan, also picking up the other CBS daytime dramas for regular daily viewing. No matter where Roe has been, how old she was, or what was going on in her life, she always remembers the soaps being a part of her day and life at the time.

Roe is the oldest of two children and five grandchildren, the only girl for her parents and of the grandchildren. Her younger brother lives away from the family and just got out of the Army after serving in Iraq. Roe's parents live in Frederick, Maryland, a suburb of Washington DC, where Roe lives. Her parents and Roe are very close. "They are my best friends and the best parents a person could have," says Roe.  "Our life as a family has been a soap opera in and of itself, but together we have persevered and will continue to do so."

Roe is the single mother of an eleven year old daughter that she simply adores. "I couldn’t imagine a life without my Kennedy."

Born an Army brat, Roe was afforded the opportunity and experiences many only dream of, growing up and as an adult. She started out her adult life perusing a degree in Criminal Justice, so she could work on a Clemency Board. As it turned out, however, she was not willing to give her life over to a poor paying job that left such a negative impact on her life, while feeling it took too much away from her daughter. She decided to follow another interest. "I’m glad I did! I became a chef, schooled and certified in Maryland, Ireland, and Italy. I owned a restaurant in North Carolina, before moving to Maryland."

That is how Roe discovered Soapdom. "I had a lot of time on my hands after selling the restaurant, and was a faithful viewer to the CBS soap lineup. Linda Marshall-Smith our QueenRuler and CEO of Soapdom, gave me a shot and here I am. I do, one day want to own a restaurant again, but for now I am having too much fun with Soapdom." Roe writes the daily episode recaps for the Bold and the Beautiful and the Young and the Restless at www.Soapdom.com

Outside of family, cooking, and the soaps; Roe loves NASCAR (Go Tony Stewart #20!), traveling, reading, anything historical (to read, research, or visit), art history, photography, and floral design. In addition to many hobbies and interest, Roe works with a non-profit group helping the victims that escape or run away from plural cultures and lifestyles. Many are victims of abuse (physical and sexual) and have no formal education. "The group I work with helps these kids/victims adjust to a life outside of their 'community,'” explains Roe.  "Adjustment to the real world -- and without their families -- is hard. I make care packages to send to these kids that include necessary personal products and fun little things, they otherwise couldn’t afford or know to buy for themselves. The kids enjoy it and get what they need."
