John O’Hurley will make several appearances on ABC’s daytime drama All My Children this fall as Kit Sterling, a producer who approaches Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) to make a movie from the new book she has just written.
Best-known for his deep, bellowing voice and his role as J. Peterman on Seinfeld, O’Hurley has also had an extensive daytime television career including stints as good and evil twins
Keith Lane/Jonathan Matalaine on Loving and Greg Bennett on General Hospital.
Speaking of his Seinfeld role, O'Hurley is now co-owner (with J. Peterman) of the real J. Peterman Catalog. After playing J. Peterman on Seinfeld (1990), he was offered the opportunity to buy part of the company and help bring it back from bankruptcy. They turned a profit the very first year.
Of note for the die hard All My Children fan, O'Hurley was once married to actress Eva LaRue, who is also set to return to All My Children to reprise her role as Maria Santos. LaRue and O'Hurley were married from 1992 to 1994. After they split, she married then All My Children co-star, John Callahan (Edmund) in 1996, with whom she has a child. LaRue and Callahan subsequently ended their marriage in 2005. In 2010, LaRue married Joe Cappuccio.
O’Hurley’s first episode on All My Children is scheduled to air on September 12.
