Ex All My Children star, Josh Duhamel (Leo) was escorted off a plane last Thursday because he refused to turn off his BlackBerry just prior to take off.
Transformers' and Las Vegas' Duhamel, most recently starring in Life as We Know It, was on a flight heading from
New York City to Kentucky. A fellow passenger reported to TMZ.com, which broke the story last week, that Duhamel was "very rude" and "taunting the attendant."Soapdom finds this difficult to believe as we've known Duhamel for years and he is always nothing if not gracious, charming and a total gentleman. The story here goes on to say that the flight attendant reportedly asked Duhamel three times to turn off his BlackBerry, and he laughed at her third request.
According to the Hollywood Reporter's account, the addendant grew angry, called for backup, and the plane -- which was already on the runway -- turned back to the gate. Two officers escorted Duhamel off, further delaying the flight and infuriating the other passengers.
So what was the problem? Why wouldn't Duhamel power down his smart phone?
A rep for the actor says Duhamel was texting on his BlackBerry about his flight being late. Soapdom can't help but wonder if he was texting his wife. Duhamel is married to Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, who he met while starring on Las Vegas.
Bottom line? "He's sorry," said the rep.
