Online Entertainment Net Plans Long Form Programming Slate for Audiences Anytime, Anywhere
Soapdom is delighted to announce that Prospect Park has unveiled the name of their upcoming internet delivered network: THE Online Network (TOLN) ®. The network plans to launch in January 2012 with the goal of eventually providing viewers with a full programming selection of first-run, long form content on an anytime, anywhere basis. Today’s announcement was made by Rich Frank and Jeff Kwatinetz of Prospect Park.
This is just what "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" fans have been waiting on pins and needles to hear! Now we know where we can tune in to see the continuing dramas we've come to love over the years...
At its debut, TOLN will feature new episodes of the previously announced serial dramas “All My Children” and “One Life to Live,” as well as first-run entertainment and lifestyle shows. Ultimately reality, scripted comedy and drama programming will be added to the TOLN slate. All TOLN programming will be supported with the full impact of traditional TV marketing and promotion as well as social media and online campaigns.
“We are creating TOLN to conveniently deliver fans of quality television long form programming anytime and anywhere,” said Frank and Kwatinetz. “With broadband availability in 70% of US households and the proliferation of internet enabled televisions, DVRs and wireless devices, ultimately we believe that online distribution provides the best platform to access 30 and 60 minute entertainment content. The viewer response to the shows we have licensed has been tremendous, and we have much more in development to appeal to a broad audience base.”
Keep up the good work, soap fans.
Along with planning for the new network, Propsect Park has already signed deals with top talent from both shows, including Cameron Mathison (Ryan, All My Children), Lindsay Hartley (Cara, All My Children), Erika Slezak (Viki, One Life to Live), Michael Easton (John, One Life to Live), Ted King (Tomas, One Life to Live), Kassie dePaiva (Blair, One Life to Live) and Frank Valentini (Executive Producer, One Life to Live) who was named Vice President of Seralized Drama for Prospect Park and will oversee production of both shows. Deals with other actors are in the works.
As part of its initial slate of announced programming, in July 2011 Kwatinetz and Frank forged a multi-year, multi-platform licensing agreement with Disney/ABC Domestic Television Group to continue production of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” after the ABC run ends. Available on TOLN, Prospect Park will produce and deliver these two long-running programs along with additional programming to consumers via online formats and additional emerging platforms including internet enabled television sets.
Prospect Park is a media and production company founded in 2009 by entertainment industry veterans Jeffrey Kwatinetz and former Disney Studios head Rich Frank. Along with successful film and music divisions, the company’s television group has numerous shows in development and breakout network hits airing including “Royal Pains” and “Wilfred.”
