Judy Blye Wilson, long time casting director of All My Children who is responsible for bringing in such talented and popular stars like Cameron Mathison (Ryan), JR Martinez (Brot) and so many others, has chosen not to move on with the show as it heads to the unchartered frontier of online programming with Prospect Park's TOLN.com (the online network)...
Instead, she has signed on to the casting efforts of broadcast television's number 1 soap opera, The Young and the Restless, according to reports in The Hollywood Reporter.
Wilson was with All My Children for 21 years, winning Daytime Emmys, and even staying on board when the show relocated from NYC to LA in 2009.
The question is -- How will her casting expertise affect the denizens of Genoa City? Will she try to entice All My Children stars to join up at Y&R? One All My Children alum is already taping at Y&R, none other than Debbi Morgan (ex Angie, AMC). Morgan's first airdate in Genoa City is Friday, October 7th. Details surrounding her character are being held very close to the vest. With Morgan now on Y&R, are other AMC stars to follow -- especially with Wilson doing the casting? If Wilson is able to make that happen, what will it mean for the online version of AMC? Stay tuned.
The Young and the Restless has held the number one position in daytime drama ratings for over 22 years.
