Now that All My Children's Ryan Lavery (Cameron Mathison) has found love with Annie (Melissa Claire Egan), the rumors can be confirmed that Greenlee Smythe Lavery is returning to Pine Valley, but not in the form of Rebecca Budig who originated the role in 1999 and left six years later in 2005.
Instead, Sabine Singh, a daytime newcomer, has landed the coveted role.
You'll remember that Greenlee is Ryan's ex, Kendall's former BBF, and Jackson's daughter. She hightailed it out of Pine Valley when she found out that Kendall was not a surrogate mother for her own baby, but rather the baby Kendall was carrying was Kendall's and Ryan's. This was something Kendall did for Greenlee in secret, as she knew how much Greens wanted Ryan's baby. But when the secret was revealed, the proverbial pooh hit the proverbial fan and Greenlee could not stand the thought of Kendall and Ryan sharing a child. Now that Ryan is finding love and peace with Annie, Greenlee is set to return to stir things up.
My question is did Ryan and Greenlee ever get an official divorce? I don't think so. Contact me and set me straight if I'm wrong.
Greenlee's new portrayer, Sabine Singh, has a sweeter, cuter look then her predecessor, Rebecca Budig who was stunning in her own way and who resembled, many say, the new love interest for Ryan, Annie.
Singh gets her gorgeous good looks from her interesting gene pool. She is the daughter of an Indian Maharaja father and an Austrian beauty queen mother. She was born in New York where, growing up, she divided her attentions between dance and theatre. After a stint studying at the University of Michigan, Singh transferred to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she concentrated on acting to earn her BFA.
Although this will be Singh's first daytime role, she is no stranger to film and television. She's starred in a number of primetimers including Dawson's Creek, Charmed, Law & Order, CSI Miami, Las Vegas, and The Sopranos. Her film credits include A Fine Line Between Cute and Creepy and The Anarchist Cookbook.
Singh bagan taping scenes for All My Children in late March, and although no official first airdate is currently available, watch for her to show up in Pine Valley sometime in April. Just when Ryan and Annie decide to be together. Ah yes. So goes the storytelling in soapdom!
