After months of rumors and back stage rumblings, the cast and crews of All My Children and One Life to Live were told this afternoon that their shows were canceled.  

"It's been a fantastic journey," said All My Children's Susan Lucci (Erica) in a statement.  "I've loved playing Erica Kane and working with Agnes Nixon and all the incredible people involved with All My Children.  I am looking 

forward to all kinds of new and exciting opportunities."  Lucci, who has been with All My Children since day one, also has a fragrance and skin care line.

Chrishell Stause, who has played Amanda Martin since 2005 had this to say:  "This show has been on for so long, it's really kind of the end of an era.  It's kind of sad."  In regard to how the cast and crew is taking the news, Stause said: "They're all upset.  Everyone is crying and hugging everybody.  A lot of friends -- it's like a family here. It's sad."

Bobbie Eakes (Krystal,AMC) just tweeted: "To all the wonderful AMC and OLTL fans: thank you so very much for your support over the years. We will always be grateful.

Fans are also weighing in on the cancelation.  From Soapdom's Facebook pages:

Kimberly McWhite: " i am in disbelief.... grew up on those shows.... and what are they gonna put on.... some drivel no one wants to see... for shame..."

Scott Novick: "I am shocked. Not really surprised, but part of me wanted to believe ABC would give those shows and their fans a chance to fight. So to see it happen so quickly, so soon after the rumors, just stuns me."

Donna Candela-Davis: "SAD, VERY SAD... I will NEVER watch these shows on ABC! There is enough of this type of 'entertainment' to go around...ABC/DISNEY...I have loved you for years, but this is it, DONE..is GH next?"

Kimberly Trew: "VERY sad. And for a cooking/lifestyle show?!? I think it's a poor decision. People want an escape nowadays. And so many folks are losing their jobs-what a bummer :-("

Kristine King Cohen: "I'm so upset!! Just when we get Roger back on the air, turns out its only going to be for a few months!"
