General Hospital fans, get your thoughts and prayers in gear. Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) has come down with an illness. We are not sure what, but we do know that whatever it is, it is putting her out of commission acting-wise for a little bit.
Due to her illness, the role of Elizabeth Webber will be temporarily recast by Martha Madison with a first air date of June 8th.
Soap fans will remember Madison from her role as Belle Brady on Days of our Lives, a role originally played by Kristen Storms (Maxie, GH). What's of interest here is that Madison was the replacement for Charity Rahmer, the actress who first won the role after Kristen Storms left. Rahmer's stay in Salem was short lived, however, when producers and fans alike did not take to her interpretation of the character. Madison, who had originally read for the role, but lost out to Rahmer, was immediately called in to read for the role again. The producers loved what they saw this time, and she was put straight to work.
Madison can currently be seen as Marly Nelson-Foster in the web series, The Bay.
