ABC Daytime's 'One Life to Live' has joined forces with STOMP Out Bullying™ to tell the story of teenager Shane Morasco (Austin Williams) being both cyberbullied and bullied at high school. STOMP Out Bullying™ stands as a leader in efforts to prevent bullying and cyberbullying among kids and teens.
STOMP Out Bullying™, a national anti-bullying and cyberbullying program for kids and teens is a signature program of Love Our Children USA (loveourchildrenusa.org). It focuses on reducing and preventing bullying, cyberbullying and other digital abuse, educating against homophobia, racism and hatred, decreasing school absenteeism, and deterring violence in schools, online and in communities across the country. It includes educating kids and teens in school and online, providing help for those in need and at risk of suicide, raising awareness, peer mentoring programs in schools, as well as educating parents on how to keep their children safe and responsible online.
Soapdom's QueenRuler, Linda Marshall-Smith, is on the Board of Advisors of LoveOurChildrenUSA.org. "I congratulate ABC Daytime in taking on the issue of bullying and cyberbulling and bringing awareness of it to a national level," said Marshall-Smith. "Kids struggle with this day in and day out at school and online. The more kids and parents know about how to counteract this rampant practice, the better equipped they will be to handle it, handle dealing with it, and strive to put an end to it."
Founder and Chief Executive Officer STOMP Out Bullying™, Ross Ellis, tells Soapdom,"STOMP Out Bullying™ is delighted to be working with ABC and 'One Life to Live.' Kudos to 'One Life to Live' for taking on this issue and bringing it to the forefront. It sends a strong message that the issue is critically important and that there is help for our kids and teens. And thanks to Linda Marshall-Smith of Soapdom for helping to increase the awareness. No one should ever be bullied in any way -- NO MATTER!"
