Bobby Steggert (ex Sam Grey, All My Children)Wonderful to see soap stars branching out and doing musicals and appearing on stage. For Bobby Steggert, (Ex-Sam Grey of All My Children), he is not only brilliantly dazzling, but totally lights up the stage starring as Will in "Big Fish" the musical in Chicago thru May 5th.

The show is not only rich in story, but the sets, music, lighting, and the cast just illuminates. Tony Award winner, Norbert Leo Buts stars as Edward Bloom, Tony nominee Kate Baldwin, as Sandra Bloom, and Tony nominee, Bobby Steggert as son, Will.

"Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions" started as a book, and in 2003 was turned into a movie starring, Albert Finney, Jessica Lange, and Billy Crudup. It took about three years to turn it into a musical.

"Big Fish" is the fantasy story about a boy and his dad. It goes through various stages of their lives with the son always trying to explore the true meaning behind his father with twists and turns along the way.

The show has been playing to packed audiences and each performance receives a thunderous standing ovation. The show is pre-Broadway bound and set to open on the Great White Way in the fall.

Steggert's performance is second to none and the entire cast of 27 performers is just mesmerizing from beginning to end. You will go from the bedroom to the circus, to the University, and see the breath taking daffodils fill the stage, and the orchestra is jubilant and vibrant.

Steggert takes to the stage and without it, one can say he'd be like a fish out of water. Having appeared in many plays like the Broadway revival of 110 in the Shade along side Audra Mc Donald. He appeared in The Minister's Wife, Yank!, The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island, Master Harold... and the boys, to name a few of his many accomplishments.

Steggert said that he is thrilled to be in the show and just loves it. "I love the audience and just the thrill to be in it,"

"Big Fish" the Musical is thoughtfully choreographed by Susan Stoman who's talent of turning the stage into a magical fantasy is something to see. Seeing the stage turn into the ocean is remarkable, not to mention the mermaid.

Steggert agrees with the stage, and the stage agrees with him. Soapdom wants to know would you ever go back to soaps? "No soaps. Just love what I'm doing. You never know in this business."

Steggert is on his way to soon becoming a household name. A graduate of NYU and studied Shakespeare at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, he also had the privilege and honor of performing at the New York Philharmonic's "Sondheim": The Birthday Concert that aired on PBS.

"BIG FISH" is in CHICAGO AT THE ORIENTAL THEATRE

Tickets are $33 to $100 at (800) 775-2000 or BroadwayInChicago.com or bigfishthemusical.com.
