Hits and misses of the 2012-2013 primetime season are beginning to emerge.
The first cancellation of the season was announced today by CBS.
Made in Jersey, the story of Martina Garretti, a young working class woman who uses her street smarts to compete as a first year lawyer among her pedigreed Manhattan colleagues at a prestigious New York law firm, has been axed. Too bad, too. I liked this show. Star, Janet Montgomery (a Brit with a Jersey accent) was quite endearing as she battled her way in the courtroom and at home.
Made in Jersey only aired twice. It premiered Friday, September 28 to rather lackluster ratings (only 1.1 and 7.8 million viewers according to the Hollywood Reporter), and didn't gain any headway it's next up at bat on Friday, October 5. Given that it was sandwiched between the rather popular CSI: NY and the Tom Sellack starrer, Blue Bloods, the network was expecting more from the show.
CBS will air Undercover Boss in its timeslot beginning November 2nd. Till then, you'll be treated to repeats of Hawaii 5-0 and NCIS.
On the upside, NBC has ordered full season series for Go On, starring the ever affable Matthew Perry and The New Normal, which is just starting to grow on me.
While over at Fox, the network has picked up full seasons of Ben & Kate and The Mindy Project.
