Imagine being a fan of Days of our Lives.
Next, imagine you’re in the market to purchase or rent a home in Malibu, California or thereabouts.
Then, imagine walking into a friendly Caldwell Banker Real Estate office in Malibu.
Lo and behold, guess who greets you as you enter the office?
None other than Drake Hogestyn, Days of our Lives’ John Black, who went out
and got his real estate license while he was away from Salem these past few years.
Check out the video where he talks all about it.
“I had the opportunity to try different things that I thought would interest me. Like investing in Real Estate and getting a Real Estate license,” Hogestyn shared with Soapdom a few weeks ago. “I am still pursuing that with Caldwell banker out here in Malibu. It’s an interesting profession. Not something you can dabble at part time, but needs full time attention.”
Check out the video where he talks all about it.
“So, officially I am a realtor. I am a member of the National Association of Realtors.”
Not only could Hogestyn lead you to your new home in Malibu or anywhere in and around the Los Angeles area, but if you live in Indiana, he could very well be your landlord. “I purchased an apartment building in my home state of Indiana, too!”
What else was Hogestyn up to during his soujourn from Days of our Lives?
“I’ve also been creating or trying to create different projects, but the climate wasn’t right at the time, but they are still irons in fire. In fact, Tristan Rogers (Young and the Restless, The Bay) and I are having lunch tomorrow. We’ve been working on a project together for the last year. These are works in progress.”
Hogestyn has also been getting out there in live theatre.
“I am doing to play with Katherine Ross at Santa Monica Playhouse. For whatever reason, I‘ve never embraced the notion that I’m an actor, I played professional baseball, I got into acting on a dare and it won me back my sweetheart. (I went to school to be a doctor, now my daughter is a doctor). When I got engaged with this play, all those feelings came back.”
One thing’s for certain. We at Soapdom are certainly glad that Hogestyn’s back in Salem. If you haven’t seen Days of our Lives in a while, be sure to tune in beginning Monday, September 26, 2011. Drake Hogestyn’s John Black is back and there’s tons more brewing. Stay tuned.
