Soapdom is delighted to share that Young and the Restless' Jeanne Cooper is on the mend and heading back to work on the soap.
It was reported several weeks ago that Cooper would be taking a medical leave and that four-time Best Actress Emmy Award winner Michael Learned would be filling in. "Michael Learned is an accomplished actress and we are grateful that she is able to fill in for Jeanne Cooper for this short time," said Y&R Executive Producer/Head Writer Maria Arena Bell.
"Jeanne is an integral part of our show and we look forward to her immient return," Bell continued.
Today, Cooper gave the wonderful news to her Facebook fans:
"Hello there, I am back. As most of you know I have been under the weather for quite some time now. But the good news is that I will be going back to work next week. Boy I did get hit hard with a nasty bug! Thank you all for your well wishes. They mean so very much to me. I love (you) all and hope to be able to post more often. Much, much love, Jeanne."
And it's a good thing Cooper took her time and got well-rested. According to Bell, "We have great storyline coming up for Mrs. Chancellor."
Cooper has starred on The Young and the Restless as Katherine Chancellor for 38 years. No word yet on her return air date.
Michael Learned's first airdate pinch hitting as Katherine is Thursday, November 10, 2011.
