Soapdom Exclusive
Oh please. Along with that other reality show that ABC Daytime programmed in place of All My Children, this is what ABC Daytime is dishing out starting in January to replace One Life to Live.
The Revolution is – guess what? Another makeover show. They are calling it lifestyle transformations. It’s a makeover show, and they are casting now for some 15-minute-of-famers.
Soapdom has learned that fashionista, Tim Gunn, is seeking married couples for a free makeover. You have to live in the tri-state area of NY, NJ and CT.
Not only will you get a free makeover, you’ll get fashion advice, too.
Whoo hoo! Can’t you get that in any issue of Cosmo, Mademoiselle, Vogue, etc., but I digress.
You have to be between the ages of 25 and 55. But be warned. Only those willing to share their story and transformation on national television need apply.
Snore.
Oh but there’s more -- another Tim Gunn makeover segment!
Double snore.
This one asks “Was your husband recently promoted and is suddenly sporting a
new look to go with his new job? Does he have a new haircut, new clothes and new confidence? Are you secretly worried your looks and personality now pale in comparison? Does his new position call for you to attend more corporate dinners, cocktail parties and other dressy events? Do you feel you don't have the right look or wardrobe for these functions? Or concerned your style will embarrass your husband?"
"If this sounds like you and you're ready for a FREE fashion makeover, style expert, Tim Gunn, and The Revolution are ready to help. Again, only those who are willing to share their story and transformation on national television should respond.”
My, my. ABC Daytime is really going overboard here, aren’t they? This is such compelling programming! Makeovers. A wife wanting/needing to impress her husband and his co-workers just because he got a promotion.
What about a husband wanting to impress his wife’s coworkers when she gets her promotion?
What about some groundbreaking afternoon programming, and not the same old shlock? ABC cancelled One Life to Live for this?
Tell you one thing. Along with not watching that other daytime reality show that ABC programmed in place of All My Children, I won’t be tuning in to this one either.
No offense, Tim Gunn, but another makeover show is boring. Plain and simple.
However, should any of you out there in soapdom live in NY, NJ or CT, are between the ages of 25-55, want that free fashion advice and your transformation blasted all over network television, and are ripe for your 15 minutes of fame, contact me and I will share the email address of the casting director. You’ll need to submit your name, cell number, age, brief summary of your story and a photo of you and your husband when you email them. Deadline for submissions is 7 PM EST, November 22, 2011.
