Meg Ryan and Frank Runon (Betsey and Steve, As the World Turns)Twenty Classic Episodes of As the World Turns to be Released On 4 DVD Set

New York, NY, October 19, 2011.   SoapClassics has announced the release of twenty classic episodes of As the World Turns on a 4 DVD set.

As the World Turns ran for more than 54 years on the CBS television network, concluding its run in September of 2010. During its tenure, it garnered over 100 million viewers worldwide.  It won 62 Emmy awards, and was the top-rated daytime drama for 20  years.

The 4-disc set of As the World Turns includes 20 of the show’s most popular episodes which aired between 1979 and 2010. The episodes are divided into four themes: “Great Weddings”, “Secrets and Scandals”, “Villains and Vixens” and “Oakdale Through the Years” (Oakdale was the fictional town in which the series was set).  Many of the show’s most memorable characters are featured in these episodes, including recurring characters played by now-famous actresses Meg Ryan, Julianne Moore, and Marisa Tomei.

SoapClassics  President Mark Yates commented: “While no limited collection can ever do justice to the scope and quality of a legendary series like As The World Turns, we have worked very hard to pick a high-quality selection of classic episodes. Many fans will recognize the episodes as some of the best and most controversial of the series, and we hope fans will enjoy owning these great moments.”

SoapClassics  is committed to preserving and distributing  not only As the World Turns, but also other great daytime dramas, such as  Guiding Light, Another World, and Search for Tomorrow. As classic episodes of these programs become available, they will also be packaged in multi-episode sets and released to the public on DVD, Blu-ray, and online.

The set will cost $19.95 and is exclusively available for purchase on the website  www.soapclassics.com or by phone at (800) 998 5199.
