The past few days have been quite fun for this soapdom queenruler. Last Sunday night I attended the Environmental Media Association's EMA Awards. Jason Mraz was honored wirh the Missions in Music award and treated us to a rendition of his hit song: "I'm Yours." Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, Sir Richard Branson was honored with the EMA Corporate Responsibility Award, Centropolis Entertainment was honored with the EMA Green Production Award, and National Geographic was honored with the EMA Legacy Award. There were also Green Seal Awards for Feature Film, Documentary Film, Television Episodic Drama, Television Episodic Comedy, Reality Program, Children's Live Action, and Children's Animated Television.
Hum. In going through this list of awards, remarkably missing is a category for Daytime Drama. I am going to have to reach out to the folks who put on this event to see what's what.
But I digress...
Along with an amazing evening of fine food and good company -- all for a very worthwhile cause -- it was fun to star spot. Finola Hughes (Anna Devane, General Hospital/All My Children) was there along with Desperate Housewives' Dana Delany (Katherine) and Andrea Bowen (Julie), and some of the cast of the new Melrose Place like Michael Rady (Jonah) and Katie Cassidy (Ella). We were actually joking with Rady regarding the reserved seating, as I was at a table reserved for Jason Mraz, but he never took his seat. I also saw Chevy Chase, Natasha Henstridge and some other character actors whose faces I recognized, but whose names I cannot recall.
Then, on Monday morning, I was running errands on the West Side of Los Angeles. Lo and behold, who do I nearly bump right into but General Hospital's Sonja Eddy, that no nonsense Nurse Epiphany Johnson. I could have gone over to her and introduced myself (as we've never met) and tried to get a quote or two for Soapdom, but you know what? She was out and about just doing errands like me and I decided not to bother her.
So, I go to my car and drive down the street. I had the top down on the convertible as it was a beautiful morning. Stopped at red light, I take a second to gaze around. Who do you think I spot walking down the street? None other than Tony Geary (Luke, General Hospital). What are the odds? Being in the same place as not one but two General Hospital icons mere minutes apart? I didn't call out to Tony either, although I easily could have with the top down and all, but I didn't want to create a mob scene.LOL
Gotta admit it though. It is fun living in LA.
Last time I mentioned that I was seeking a solution for my dry skin, thanks also to living in LA. I've been using Become's Lift & Firm Gel for about a week now and I am noticing that my skin is feeling a bit smoother and silkier. Not seeing any reduction in any cellulite yet, though, not that I have a lot, mind you, and it's only been about a week of using the product. LOL. I'll continue to keep you posted. In the meantime, find out more about Become's Lift & Firm Gel here: http://www.becomebeauty.com/usa/FigLiftGel.php
