Every day I surf the net to see what the latest buzz is about the Writers Strike. I'm not weighing in here on the merits of the WGA strike..But its all about ME <tongue in cheek> and my TV viewing.
Right now - I dont think most people are too worried as we don't feel the pain, yet. The Daytime producers say they enough scripts to make it into the new year.
But - I am starting to get a little concerned that if this strike does go on for any length of time - that it will be the first big nail in the coffin for soaps. The networks have been rumbling for years that soaps are not as profitable any more and this could be just the incentive they need to dump this 1950's genre. That would be a very sad day if that happened.
And I am most upset that Jack Bauer wont be back to save the world in January!
