Numerous ‘dates’ with movies have made us expert in perceiving entertainment to some extent. But we don’t need to push hard to make out whether any project has strong inclination towards those financing the production or not.

New Hollywood, or to be precise, the new wave cinema movement was a break away from the control of production houses. The band of new filmmakers, with the ability to think outside the realm of mainstream cinema, was the torchbearer of the movement during the early 60s.

The filmmakers and actors during this period decided to do away with the fictional narrative, and instead, focused on realism. And it resulted in the incessant flow of movies that were feisty and high in artistic value, and have remained ‘fresh’ until now in 2011 movies also.

The touch of realism paved way for bold representation of sexuality on screen, and it variably hit the right chord with the audiences. As a result of which, a new revolution in cinema made it presence felt all across. And quite surprisingly, the new-generation movie lovers are still inclined towards such realistic movies.

And why shouldn’t they be?

After all, cinema is a representation of life and the more a film’s narrative is attached to realism, the closer it is to the heart of the masses. With access to movies online, you can draw a comparison between the mainstream films and parallel movies, produced over the years.

Undoubtedly, we would witness that more and more commercial films try to follow the new wave cinemas, so as to surprise the audience now and then, if not all the time.

ABC Daytime debuted The Chew today.  I didn't watch, there were too many other fun soap opera related things to see. Like Jacob Young  (ex JR, All My Children) returning to The Bold and the Beautiful in the role of Rick Forrester, or his fun appearance on The Talk, which, by the way, also had to do with food.  Apparently, in homage to All My Children's broadcast demise, The Talk is planning to run this segment called "All My Food," or "All My Dishes," or something like that where they will feature a former All My Children actor in the kitchen with them whipping up a favorite recipe.

So, with all that going on, and then of course, the premiere of the reboot of Days of our Lives, and catching up with Dirty Soap (which I didn't get to see last night, but thankfully, there is DVR), The Chew was the absolute last thing on my agenda.

From what I've read online, however, the main host, Mario Batalli, the chef the network was promoting up the kazoo, wasn't even in studio!  He showed up via remote from some golf course in New Jersey, and said a few words, and from what i hear, his microphone wasn't even working correctly.

Not the auspicious beginning for ABC Daytime's elixer to boost ratings and revenue in the time slot.

I miss All My Children.

What I never understood from the moment ABC announced the cancellation of All My Children (and One Life to Live, early next year), and shared news about their replacements, like this show The Chew, was what was ABC Daytime thinking? For years they had been griping that their soap opera audience was skewing too old. They wanted younger viewers.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong here, but who would a teen girl rather watch? Tall, dark, handsome, and chisled Cameron Mathison (Ryan, All My Children), or a middle-aged cubby, balding red-headed chef who is obsessed with Crocs?  I just don't see The Chew skewing that much younger an audience.  At least not young enough to grow up with the show.

So, unfortunately, or fortunately, you'll not be seeing a review of The Chew at Soapdom.com.  A cooking show is just not our thing.  Don't get me wrong. I love cooking shows. In their place, like on the Food Network or the Cooking Channel.  I don't want my broadcast nets to turn into a cabler, which is what ABC seems to want to make out of its early afternoon block.

This is one viewer that will now abandon that network.  My fear is that many others will as well, meaning that ultimately One Life to Live (for however much time it has left) and General Hospital will suffer as a result.

With great power, comes great responsibility and the Time Lord is known to have been aware of this fact throughout his life. Doctor Who, in its season 6, has shifted focus from the regular objectives to a call from an eight-year-old George to check out the ‘Night Terror’s’ that the latter has been experiencing. And, now in the upcoming episode 12, the Doctor is about to attend his last social call from the Earth before embarking on his ‘termination journey’ to Lake Silencio.

As the season moves towards its end, Doctor Who will realize that he doesn’t have a lot of time left at his disposal and that he needs to pay a visit to his old friend Craig Owens, who once upon a time possessed the privilege of sharing his house with the Time Lord. It has been long since the Doctor has met Craig and season 6, while carving out this opportunity for him to meet his friend for the last time might have a lot of surprises for the Doctor in store, too. Episode 12 of the season, as a result, would tell what exactly happened at the Craig’s shop. Watch Doctor Who season 6 episode 12 “Closing Time” to catch the Doctor put an end to his friend’s woes forever.

Craig’s urgency and his fears have doubled for the simple reason that there are two more lives at stake now – of his wife Sophia and their newborn baby. Somehow, Craig has started believing that the Doctor might never come to meet him, ever. But as we catch Doctor Who season 6 episode 12 online post its telecast, our belief in the Time Lord’s conscience will be strengthened further as he will make it to Craig’s place, proving that Craig was too little a fellow to be able to judge his (the Doctor’s) emotions and realization of duties towards the society.

Well, knowing that in the past, the Doctor traveled a time gap of 200 years to make it to his friend Craig and his family in distress, Craig should have been doubt-free. Anyway, Doctor Who season 6 episode 12 has the Doctor coming across his first surprise at the Craig’s shop, where he discovers a silver rat. To be more specific, a metal rat and it takes the Doctor little to no time in rightly guessing the presence of Cybermats.

For Doctor Who, these creatures were not new and he knows that being more than just unique creatures, they were lethal future weapons of the Cybermen. As we watch Doctor Who season 6 full episodes, we find the Doctor once again preparing to take on the Cybermen.

Firework Rocks

Written by Linda Marshall-Smith

Okay, so this is not soap opera related, but in this case, I don't care!  Why?  Cos I love Katy Perry's "Firework," and couldn't be more delighted that she won the VMA (MTV Music Video Award) for Video of the Year for the song!

Way to go, Katy.

Doctor Who is one show that has enamored generations, with its captivating stories that revolve around a scientist and his adventures. The way it showcases sci-fi stories, has made science more interesting than ever before.
Be it the time machine TARDIS, the Doctor’s ability to regenerate, or their face-off with alien species inhabiting different planets; the show has made some  indelible marks on our minds. The show is all set to enthrall the viewers with its sixth season. Watch Doctor Who season 6 episode 1 “The Impossible Astronaut,” once it is aired, and catch up with another baffling sequence that keeps the Doctor and his team on their toes.
The upcoming installment would kick-start with its focus on four envelopes that would ensue mystery and suspense. This batch would make for an interesting watch as it would showcase the Doctor and his team in frenzy. They have to take up some secret summons this time. Doctor Who, in its yet-to-be aired season 6 episode 1 “The Impossible Astronaut,” would be juggling with the puzzle of missing envelope number 1. The only hint that the Doctor has are the other three envelopes.
A reunion would take place with Amy, Rory and River Song meeting the Doctor in the midst of Utah desert. Catch up with Doctor Who season 6 episode 1 online once the segment sees the light of the day, and witness Doctor Who’s team gearing up for another challenge.
Doctor’s team members are hiding something from him, a fact that could adversely affect him. Doctor Who, in its forthcoming season 6 episode 1, would witness Doctor and his illustrious team mates confronting many challenges that may leave their senses numbed.
A real treat for the viewers in this upcoming part would be Doctor’s foray into the Oval Office in year 1969. Tune-in to Doctor Who season 6 episode 1 once it is aired, and catch up with the Doctor who would be having tete-a-tete with President Nixon.
In this rare and one of its own kind of meeting, Mr. President would be seeking Doctor’s help to save a girl from an imminent attack. Doctor Who would be entrusted with the responsibility of helping former FBI Agent Canton in solving this bizarre case.
The show would begin with such a bang and it seems that this entire season would keep the viewers hooked. Watch Doctor Who season 6 full episodes and catch up with the adventurous sojourn of Doctor and his team.

Doctor Who episodes are here to stay!

Written by Lee Grace

Well they say that you cannot change anything that has happened in the past. And there is no such way by which you can go back to time and mend things, which went wrong in the past. But what if you meet somebody, who can make you travel back into time and help you correct them? I’m sure you must have heard of something called a time machine.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but what if the doctor takes you away. Meet the doctor of the Doctor Who, who belongs to the Time Lord, a fictional extraterrestrial race. His ‘larger than life’ presence in the show’s episodes simply captivates the viewers. Be ready to go back into time in Doctor Who episodes, as the doctor has invented a time machine called the TARDIS, a machine that makes time-travel a reality.

Doctor is known to take his companions back into time, with the help of the TARDIS, in order to mend all the wrong happenings in the past and this is how he helps people and becomes their pacifier.

Well, if you’re eager to meet a doctor like him, then it’s time for you to watch Doctor Who online. Go back into time because after that you won’t repeat the phrase, ‘let bygones be bygones.’ Watch the most captivating presentation of the concept of time travel. Doctor Who series has been listed in the Guinness World Records for being the longest running science fiction series. Moreover, this science fiction series has been tagged as the most successful sci-fi show of all times. Hats off to its creators Sydney Newman, C. E. Webber and Donald Wilson, for delivering to us, such a great piece of work. You’d be happy to know that the show is in the midst of its 6th season and has already dished out more than 770 episodes. So, don’t wait any further and meet the Doctor Who online on a reliable website.

Doctor Who is one show, which you must not miss, if you are a die hard admirer of the infinite elasticity of the human imagination that grants it the strength to take any direction and any form. Human mind often forays into an endless world of imagination and alters it with unthinkable modulation, which when compared with the real world, simply seems incomparable. So, let us celebrate the infiniteness of human imagination by laying our eyes on the Doctor Who series, which is nothing less than an epitome of creative-brilliance.
So what are you waiting for? A highly-charismatic and enterprising doctor is all ready to meet you.
