I agree with this article..I could do with less death and more lovin' and steamy storylines.....Besides - we all know just because someone dies - they usually dont stay dead! ;D

I agree with you on how murder, trials, and funerals all see so out-of-this world in how they "work" them out...if only real life was like that! That's almost like the child the never ages or grows up overnight while every one else never ages. Ah the miracles of television. I do wish for a little more ooh,la,la amongst the cast.

Your article is just right. - Munn2lb

As usual this writer is right on the mark. A very good and insightful. article. She expresses most viewers sentiments very accurately. I look forward to reading her articles.

I totally dislike reality shows and contests on a Soap Channel but Marla Jones is right, it is time for one featuring a soap writing contest. These need not be full scripts but, an indepth outline. Perhaps the ending could be withheld, so if chosen and used, it would leave the viewers some element of surprise. If enough good entries maybe they could pick more than one. This is a great idea, I hope TPTB read and agree!!!!

She is correct when she says, plots are used over and over. Most pregnancies result in a still birth or miscarriage, or if the baby is born a paternity test must be done as ASAP. Some Children never know their real father. Few weddings make it past “I do”. A lot of sex but little romance. History is totally ignored. After they kill off a beloved character and realize their mistake they return them as ghosts. This is becoming common place, too. Couples do not stay together, as soon as the viewers express an interest in them, the writers break them up.

Currently we tune in to see our favorite actors, not to watch the Story Lines as they are just the same old things rehashed over and over. Two examples are, I wouldn’t watch General Hospital without Jason and Sonny as main characters- but there are other things they can be involved in besides eliminating one Mob Group after an other. Same for OLTL, Todd is the main reason I watch it, his chemistry with his daughter and wife is amazing, but there is a lot he could be doing besides always being arrested and getting divorced and remarried. All three of these characters are interesting and the actors have a lot of chemistry with the entire cast. I hope the soap writing contest is “a go“, and leads to fantastic story lines for all three. Also, for everyone's favorite characters.
