Okay, so this is not soap opera related, but in this case, I don't care! Why? Cos I love Katy Perry's "Firework," and couldn't be more delighted that she won the VMA (MTV Music Video Award) for Video of the Year for the song!
Way to go, Katy.
Although, I also do love Adele's "Rolling in the Deep."
I now return you to your regularly scheduled soap opera stuff. :o)
Hi Soapdom members and site visitors,
We are doing some upgrades to the Soapdom.com software. We are delighted to be adding some new features and beefing up some of the current ones. I hope you will take advantage of Soapdom.com's cool social network. Add photos and videos. Invite your friends. Create and join groups.
But through the course of the upgrading process -- which will be for the next few days -- the site may go down, or be taken off line. Please bear with us as we get everything upgraded. We will be back in business, better and with more functionality, before you know it.
Thank you in advance for your patience.
Welcome to NuSoapdom! Tenth Anniversary Version!
Can you believe it? This is Soapdom.com's fourth version. Around here, we are calling it Soapdom v4. We've come a long way from our humble beginnings as Turtle-Run.com back in 1999. Those of you who have been with us since then will remember our adorable mascot, Bob the Purple Turtle.
Ain't he cute? We went from Turtle-Run's humble beginnings...
...to a more dynamic content driven site in 2002:
...to here in 2006:
...to where we are now in 2009:
With each new version of the site -- and the logo -- we brought you new features and top notch content. This go round we are extremely, extremely excited about what v4 offers. Here is just a sample:
Soapdom Social Network
It's our very own Facebook-MySpace-type community right here at Soapdom.com. You can write and manage blogs, upload photos, videos, build a friends list, and so much more. Why have a soaps-related page on Facebook, when you can do it right here at Soapdom, Where Soap Operas Rule! Start your page and invite your friends today.
This is one of my favorite features. The default color for Soapdom is this cool shade of pink. But if your look in the drop down where you log in or register, you will see four small boxes. Click on the blue box and the site turns blue! Click on the orange box and the site turns orange. Click on the gree box and --- say it with me soap fans --- the site turns green. Click pink and you are back to where you started!
Chat and Forums
As usual, we still have our chat rooms -- one for each soap, an audiorium, and an editors chat. And our message boards. Come share your thoughts with everyone.
As in v3, you can comment on every article throughout the site. All your comments will be listed in your member area's "comment section."
The more you comment, blog, add photos, videos, etc to the site, the more points you'll get. The more points you get, the more of a soap opera expert you become. Top scorers will be entered into contests at the various intervals thoughout the year and you can win some very hot prizes. More info on this to come.
Speaking of contests, we'll have more of them. There will be polls, photo galleries, games, and more.
Yup. We intend to offer a featured video a few times a week. If it's not one we've shot and produced ourselves, it will be one from YouTube or one directly produced by our content partners. It could even be one of yours. Stay tuned for more on this cool new feature.
Finally, finally, finally we will get our Soapdom store off the ground.
As with v3, we offer a wide range of Newsletters, from the The Soapdom News to newsletters on each show, and of course the ever popular Sneak Peeks Newsletter. Be sure to sign up for your favorites.
Last But Not Least
As usual, we will continue to provide you with the latest in soap opera breaking news, casting news, show background, in depth interviews, opinion articles and oh so much more.
So come and join us Inside the Bubble at Soapdom.com.
|Greg Vaughan dedicated to being a man of the cloth|
Greg Vaughan enjoys playing the holier than thou role of Father Eric Brady on Days of our Lives and says the character suits him just fine.
"You know, it really does. I'm enjoying this role" Vaughan said. "And I am a religious person. After all...I come from the bible belt of the country (Texas)."
The character of Eric was last seen on Days of our Lives about a 12 years ago, then played by Jensen Eckles (who now stars as FBI agent Dean Winchester on the CW's Supernatural). When the character left Salem, he was quite the "playboy." So who would of thought he'd return as a man of the cloth?
