Dear Soapdom,

I need some information on the soap opera Love of Life.  My mother named me after of one of the characters and I am doing a research project on it.  If there is any information on how to get pictures or video clips of this show it would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,
Betsy H. Cedar Falls, IA

Dear Betsey,

Love of Life was a soap opera that aired on the CBS network from 1951 to 1980, at which point, it was cancelled on February 1, 1980 to make room for the expansion of The Young & the Restless to a full hour.

Love of Life began its life as a 15-minute, black & white soappette, expanded to 30 minutes in 1958, and switched to living color in 1967.

American Home Products and Roy Windsor, who created the soap, produced it until CBS took over the reigns in 1969.  Roy Windsor also created Another World and Search for Tomorrow among others.

Read this interesting synopsis of the storyline.

For more info, visit the Internet Movie Database.

For requests for clips or photos, I'd go directly to the CBS Network in New York at the following address:

Love of Life
c/o CBS Network Television
51 West 52nd Street
New York, New York 10019
Attn: Program Archives Department

Hope this helps, and thanks for contacting Soapdom.com
