Hi Suds Buds!
Many of you have been emailing asking us to confirm if Roger Hayworth will be heading back to Llanview. The rumors are true! Roger reprises his EMMY-Award winning role of Todd Manning on One Life to Live beginning Friday, February 25, 2000. Manning, a volatile and dangerous multimillionaire, left Llanview after betraying the trust of those closest to him, especially Tea Delgado (Florencia Lozano). He stole her heart, then broke it into a zillion pieces. It took her a while, but she is now involved with someone new -- R.J. Gannon (Timothy D. Stickney). Has she totally forgotten her feelings for Todd? How will his return to Llanview effect her emotions? It very well may wreak havoc with her future. All you Todd and Tea fans be sure to tune in Friday, February 25th. Todd will only be in Llanview one week. You don't want to miss a minute.
Fans of James Kiberd (ex-Trevor Dillon, AMC) are mounting the "Ties for Trevor" campaign and ask that all Dillon fans join the effort. "We are sending in a tie (something from the closet)," said Jaggersgrl, "with an index card attached." It should only cost about 77-cents postage. Jaggersgrl was quick to point out that this was not her idea, and would love to thank whoever it was who conceived it. "It's such a darlin idea," she said. (Whoever that Dillonworlder is, please contact TRO! :o) Jaggersgrl loved the idea so much, she is spreading the word. "We've gotten a quick response already," she said. If you want to take part in this campaign, send your tie and index card note to: AMC Head Writers, c/o All My Children Studios, 320 W. 66th Street, New York, NY 10023 to arrive the week of Valentine's Day.
Sean Jordan of ZENtertainment tells TRO that former All My Children star, Keith Hamilton Cobb (ex-Noah) has just landed a new role. He has signed to play against Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) in the upcoming syndicated series Gene Roddenberry'sAndromeda. Cobb plays the character, Tyr Anasazi, a charismatic, finely honed fighting machine. Or, as Noah Keefer might say: "Not the kinda guy you want messin whit chu." LOL Sorbo's character is a little more complex. A captain in a High Guard with the responsibility of protecting a civilization that spans millions of worlds, he finds himself betrayed from within, and found left for dead in a black hole. He is rescued 300 years later, along with his ship, Andromeda, which is now capable of feelings and perception. Knight Rider in space? Don't know about you, but I plan on checking local listings for this one. Cobb and Sorbo together on the same TV screen? Gene Roddenberry? Whoa, whatta combo. But! Will either of the two leading men have space-age haircuts? We'll have to tune in and see. :o)
Confession time: Okay. I give. Passions is really, really growing on me! When the show first aired, I had some concerns. Now, it is just too much fun. I love the Sheridan/Luis story. I love Julian Crane. I love Tabby and Timmy. Timbatha, I call them! LOL There is much about the show that is making me giggle, and making my afternoon. One eeensy weensey little "note" to the writers. (In Hollywood, a "note" is a euphemism for critique -- a nicer way to say what you're not that happy about.) For me and Passions, it's the ever present "talking to oneself" device. All the characters do it. It happens many times each episode. Please writers. It's to a point where it distracts from the overall fun of the show. Try and find some other way to get that exposition across. Are any of you Passions fans bothered by this, or am I being too picky? Pour me a martimmy and share your feelings in the "Criticize the Critic" folder on the TRO Message Boards.
Speaking of Passions, we have got a treat for you. Our interview with Galen Gering (Luis) will be online soon! What a sweetheart. Not to mention, drop dead gorgeous. Stay tuned to Turtle-Run for further details. Till then, be sure to visit Galen's Official website at http://www.networksetc.net/PASSIONS/luis/luishome.html and send him our luv!
Speaking of Galen, New York area Sheridan and Luis fans get yourselves to Rockefeller Center on Saturday, February 12, 2000 at noon. Galen and his beautiful costar, McKenzie Westmore (Sheridan) will make a public appearance at the NBC Experience. It's times like this that make me want to move back to New York City! LOL Tell Galen I sent you, and have a great time.
